Sorel Caribou Boot - Women's
Hike down an icy trail or use them with your snowshoes; either way, you'll be plenty warm in the Sorel Women's Caribou Boot. Rated to -40F, the Caribou Boot is built from a waterproof full-grain leather upper attached to a vulcanized rubber bottom. Metal shanks across the heel and ball of your foot give you sturdy footing across uneven terrain. The Caribou Boot is waterproof, and the 9mm ThermoPlus felt liner is removable, so you can dry them out between uses.
Bottom Line: Made to keep your feet warm and dry in cold, wet conditions.

Dogsledding in Canada
By: bumblebree2112304
December 29, 2008
I traveled from sunny California to Banff, Canada for Christmas where it was -15 F and found that Sorel's are to Canada what flip-flops are to California. These were the boots of choice for the dogsledding team that thought -15 F was a WARM day for the winter. My feet were warm and cute the entire trip. I got the Caribou in the Elderberry color and I never wanted to take them off. They run a size large so I got a 7 instead of an 8 and they were perfect w/a pair of merino wool socks (don't wear cotton in cold weather). P.S.- the bubble cleats kept me from slipping in the ice even once!

Write your question here...i wear a womans size 11. I also wear heavy socks sometimes in the winter. Could I really go down to a size womans 10 and not be too small?

Sorel Caribou Boots - women's

This is a fabulous boot for snowy and cold winters. I have been impressed with how warm the shoes are, particularly because I get cold feet quickly in the winters of Minnesota. The boots are true to size and what's great is that they comfortably fit a thick pair or two thinner pairs of socks and still give your feet room to move. I usually wear a size 10 and ordered a 10 and am perfectly happy with them. Their traction is very good. I love the green color - something different for a change. The price is worth it because they will last for years. Highly recommended!

AAAgh! I wear a size 10 normally, and everyone here says go half a size down for correct fit. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as 9 1/2. I'm debating, go down to a 9 or stick with a 10 which is too big? help!

Go down a size!!!! I promise!!!! I normally wear a size 6 or 7 and I had to get a size 5 for them to fit and that's the smallest size they make. I could've gone even smaller!

I just bought my 2nd pair. After 40 yrs,the tread was pretty tired on my 1st pair. These are the only boots that ever kept my feet warm and dry. They are comfy and easy to get on and off.I bought a size 7(usual shoe size, too) and they are a bit big but I like to wear 2 prs.of socks and have wiggle room.Works wonderfully for me.These are excellent boots and I highly recommend them!!

9's will work great. The nice thing about these boots is you can wear really thick socks for warmth or you can slip a 2nd set of insoles in there to take up some space.

The best winter boot hands down. Order a 1/2 size smaller than normal. Your feet will NOT get cold in these boots. They last for years; I've had the same pair since 1980. Have bought one new pair of felt liners. They rock!

I have a narrow (2A) foot and am trying to find winter/waterproof boots. Have tried Kamik in a similar style boot and my feet are swimming. If I go down a size my toes touch the end. Tried the thick socks to fill space but my feet are still sliding around. Has anyone with narrow feet tried these...or have a suggestions to try? Thanks!

These fit a bit big so you could definitely drop a size. That will do some and for the rest you can add some insoles and/or thicker socks.

I finally bought these boots after looking at them for two months. The first time I wore them, I couldn't believe how comfortable they were. When I go outside in the snow, whether to the mailbox, campus, or the local tavern, I am in these boots. I refuse to wear anything else. My feet are now the warmest part of my body when I leave the house - and I wish I'd purchased them two month ago. I wear a size 8.5 normally, and bought these boots in a size 8, and they fit perfect (especially with smart wool socks). Their traction is great on ice, and my feet are completely dry. And this site was great, as was 5 day shipping (got them in 3 days).

These boots rock! Super warm, easy to get on & off. The edamame color is great - not too bold, but something different. They run a bit big - I normally wear a 7 in a winter boot, and upon recommendation, got a 6 - Fit great! An awesome classic. I even got the man to do some shopping and pick up a pair for himself for the upcoming VT winter. A+ boot.

I ordered these boots for me and my wife. It took only 5 days from ordering until I received it in Oslo Norway, and the service is really good. The boots are warm and awesome for Norwegian winter. My friends liked the boots too, so yesterday I ordered 2 more pairs. I can highly recommend both Backcountry and Sorrel Boots. Antonio. Oslo Norway.

Not so much. They have a bit of support but I have yet to find a boot with what you could consider actual support. The upside of these boots is that they tend to have a little extra wiggle room so you could add foot beds in them.Hope that helps.

I believe that's just the older logo. The best thing to do is call the folks at Sorel and ask them. They'll have a complete history and be able to look up exactly what you have and know what to do. Sorry it's not more direct help but that's the best thing you can do.

Toasty Toes

December 22, 2008
Excellent traction - toasty warm - waterproof. I followed the advice of the other reviewers and ordered a 9 instead of my usual 9 1/2 wide. Great advice. They do run big - the 9 fits perfect. I also used the 'chat now' feature to help pick the right boot (for ice fishing). The chat now feature saved me a significant amount of searching.
These generally run up to about mid-calf.

When we moved from CA to IL this year, our movers lost all of our boots (winter, ski, board...7 pairs). I had the Sorel Caribous before and they were the first thing I replaced. They were great in the Tahoe snow and are great in Chicago slush/ice/snow. They are really warm. My regular size is a women's 8. Last time, I bought a size 8 because I figured that with ski socks on they would be snug. They were a bit too big even with thick socks, and wished I had gone a size smaller, so this time I did. The 7s fit great and I love the elderberry color. They are very warm because they don't get wet with the rubber sides, and they are lined with warm fuzzy stuff. I even like to wear them around the house if I can't find my slippers.

I'm looking for a new pair of Sorel's for my wife who has finally worn out her elderly Snow Cat's. I'd like it to have either a lodenwool or thinsulate liner & preferably a one-piece, gum shoe style sole. Is this boot a good choice?

My wife got these as and bought them for everything from snowmobiling to snowshoeing. They're bomb proof and insanely warm. The soles feel really sticky and seem to last very well.Hope that helps.

Thanks for the recommending the Caribou Cold Weather Boot. As a person who has a history of freezing her feet, I can attest to the fact that the boots keep your feet warm in the coldest of weather! Hats off to you and your wonderful product!
Originally founded in Ontario, Canada in 1908. In 2000 Sorel became a division of the Columbia Sportswear Company. The actual footware is probably made somewhere in Asia, like most other things.

These boots are amazing! Not only do they keep your feet super toasty and dry, they are very comfortable. I never knew I could enjoy shoveling the snow. I recently wore them snowshoeing in Yellowstone and they really proved their worth. Excellent purchase. They do fit big, though. I purchased my regular size and they were big so I compensate with a thicker sock and that does the trick.

My wife needs a wide width generally. I have a hard time geeting winter boots for her. Most manufacturers or suppliers do not have anything but medium width. Will this boot accomodate a wider foot by going up a size?????
By: Gil Steinmetz

They sure will. In either mens or women's they fit generally pretty wide. You can keep the same size and expect that they are going to be plenty wide.Hope that helps.

I bought a pair of these boots for my girlfriend for Christmas. She loves them! In fact, since we had snow, I couldnt get her to take them off! I read some reviews before buying that complained about how big these boots are. Hey! They're snow boots! They're not dainty. Comfortable and warm describes them - I bought a pair for myself a few years ago. Delivery was as promised. I went to Sorel's website and at the time I bought the boots Backcountry.com was listed as a retailer. So I felt confident I was buying from a reputable supplier.
okay now, where`s the green color, is it going to be avail.

Since I wear a size 10 the boot is extremely big and heavy. Its ironic that I received them on Friday and awoke this morning to North Jersey first snow fall. Temps are 22degrees out and snow coming down. You know Im going to walk and get the paper. They felt warm and comfortable trying them on in the house and since they were recommended by a friend who knows the brand said they were the best, im sure I will just as toasty warm and comfortable outside. Off to get the paper I go wearing my Sorels.
