Smith Holt Helmet
Use your head and get a helmet you can wear in the terrain park in winter or at the skatepark in summer—the Smith Holt Helmet. Airflow ventilation allows for seasonal climate control, and snap-fit ear pads remove easily when the weather is warm. Smith's AirEvac design pulls hot air from your goggles through under-shell vents, so you can ride fog-free all day.
Bottom Line: Knock on wood—the Smith Holt Helmet has you covered.

It's my first actual season boarding. Makes my head look huge but who cares. It's protected my head quite a few times when I wiped out. It's very light and quite comfortable and works any type of goggles (I have one Smith and one Oakley).

Good basic, well priced helmet. Got mine like 2 years back at a ski show, and recently got Dragon Mace goggles and they fit perfect with the helmet. I agree with many that the helmet loses the feel of being on after a while. I sue mine for skiing here in New England, and it has proven well against the wind and cold, but very slightly sometimes I feel the wind by my ears, but that is on crazy days of skiing. Good buy overall. I give it a 4-5 due to it being basic and the fact that SOMETIMES it is not enough to keep me warm. But other than that, worth it. I would recommend it.

It fits great, feels great, protects great, and looks great. I don't even notice I have it on. This is my most fave helmet I have ever owned.

This was my first helmet. I got it after smacking my head pretty hard, thought it would be worth it. This thing looks cool, keeps my head cool (removable ear pads) and best of it fits my oversize noggin. Worth every cent!!

Very light helmet. Fits my XL head way better than the Red HiFi. Many times, I've forgotten that i even have it on and end up knocking stuff with it.. its THAT comfortable and light The only reason i'm reminded i have it on are the really warm (removable) earpads Ventilation helps eliminate goggle fog

I've never worn a helmet, so this is my first. It's comfortable/lightweight and I barely notice I have it on. Works well with my Smith goggles. Removable vent covers and padding. Bargain for the price.

I've been using this helmet for the past winter and it has worked extremely well for me. I tried on helmets from all of the major brands (Giro, RED, Bern, etc) and this one definitely fit the best. It also works perfectly with the Smith Phenom goggles.

Nice fitting, comfortable. fits goggles easily. Haven't "tried it" yet. Funny how you need a helmet when you have one on, then you wear one and you just don't seem like you need it...

Great Helmet and the price is right. The fit is comparable to pro-tec in size. It is really comfortable and you can still hear reasonably.

I love this helmet-- it fits great, and it's warm. I wear it with just
a hat and the earpads, no other padding. I bought it for my school ski
team and I love wearing it. The only problem-- with the matte blue
helmet, the paint comes off easily-- I have yellow scratches on it from
the time I put it in my (green) locker. Other than that, it's great!

After years of dragging my feet, the Mrs. convinced me to put some plastic on my head. I actually hardly notice it’s there. Decent venting and a simple, clean design made this the obvious choice. I have not hit anything with it so I cannot attest to its strength.

I bought this helmet for my husband who snowboards. He absolutely loves it. It fits perfectly and with the addition of the Smith Single Shot Skullcandy Audio Accessory Kit he can listen to tunes while snowboarding. He has nothing but good things to say about the helmet.

I really like this helmet, it's warm and looks cool. The only problem is that when I wear it with a beanie underneath without the earpads, my head looks really small...

It's light enough that it doesn't get in the way. Also, keeps my head warm. My Spy Soldier goggles work great with it. There's no gap between the helmet and my goggles. I'm quite happy with this purchase!

good fit, light and really comfortable, easily ventable by removing elongated plugs, best integration with a goggle I have seen in a helmet.

I'm happy with my choice for the Smith Holt helmet. i just finished a week skiing in Colorado. the helmet is comfortable, kept my head warm in the freezing temps, and served it's purpose 2 times too many. It's a tad bulky but that just means more protection to me! i also am a bigger guy with a bigger head and i was happy that this helmet easily accommodated my needs and did so very comfortably. no regrets here!~

I mainly bought this helmet because of the lifetime warranty. The helmet is light, warm, and the goggle clip on the back is great. Great helmet.

Love the fit and plenty warm. In super wind you get an ear draft due to the removable winter earmuffs. Butter beanie underneath corrects this. Large goggle wearers beware though might have to move to a narrower set of specs.

Just bought the helmet today from a local shop, but I have to write and concur with the guy above who said this helmet will fit all of us cranially gifted individuals (big head). I have tried Protec, Red, Boeri, and Bern, and this is the first helmet which fits perfectly. Nice.

It took me about three months to pick out a helmet, with questions about style, color, safety, and comfort shredding through my head. I wanted the best helmet for the best price. This is a very basic, very good helmet. I have worn it several times and not had a problem. Plus you can decorate it with sitckers from all the sweet mountains you conquer.

This helmet is nice, I like the look of it and all, but I just don't like the way helmets sit on my head. I don't know if it's just me but they seem really huge. Anyway, I'm still happy I got one and I would say most other people will be too.

Decided to protect my head this year-tried on many of the other brands and styles. Couldn't find the Holt in ANY of the shops in my area, so decided to order it based on the reviews and description on this site. Received it today and I am very happy with it. It is by far the most comfortable of all the helmets I tried on, including those much more expensive. It is light, looks great, and for the price has some great features (like the goggle vents and liner). Great job Smith, and great website, you guys!

This is the first helmet I have ever worn. I was so blown away at how light it is, and how it is super strong. It has saved my head a few different times. I wear Smith Phenoms w/ it, and they fit great. But the goggles that fit the best, are the Spy Soldiers. There is NO gap whatsoever between the goggle and helmet. A++

I love the helmet, but on the glossy black one that I got it was to slippery to hold my goggles on it. Added to that issue is that it does have a strap holder on the back but it does close, it is just a slot that the goggle band can easily slip out of. Ones with a button to close it work better and the super slippery glossy finish makes it even worse. Great helmet, bad goggle support.

Love the helmet -- it fits me really well, since Giro's tend to pinch my forhead & back of my head like a football. LOVE how the vents in front integrate w/ my Smith Phenom goggles. They really do help with the venting of the goggs, which is a problem with almost ALL other helmets I've used (about half a dozen in the last 10 years). Smith making helmets is brilliant -- there really is synergy between being a goggle designer & being a helmet designer. The two work well together.

Nice helmet all around. I was a bit skeptical buying this helmet. Skied with a Giro 9 for years. Always happy with Giro but after recently purchasing the new Smith Prodigy goggle and doing a little research on my own it seemed that this helmet would fit better with my goggles. The helmet is not bulky, its comfortable, in many respects very similar to the Giro but fits better with my goggles and the look is pretty cool. My only concern and I'd be curious to see if anyone else has a problem with it is the goggle latch in the back. It doesn't snap shut around the Prodigy's strap like the Giro 9 did. The goggle doesn't appear to slide off from behind easily (like the Giro Omen-nightmare) but if I encounter this problem while making turns I will send it back. Not going to risk losing money on pair of goggles because of poor design by the helmet manufacturer. I don't understand why Smith or any helmet manufacturer would make a helmet that doesn't offer a secure goggle latch. Other than that it's a good helmet.

This helmet is the greatest helmet I have ever owned. It fits great and is really comfortable. It is also very good at ventilating while keeping my head warm. I would recommend to anyone looking for a low-profile helmet that fits and looks great.

Rockin helmet-- not too big, fits just right.
The sizing is a little different though-- the Smith is sized one size smaller for me than the comparable Giro helmets-- (I wear a Giro Medium, but wear a Smith Small).

The Holtis by far the best helmet out right now. I have rocked RED helmets for a couple of years but they just do not compare the comfort of the Holt. Also with a pair of Smith Phenoms the Holt offers a stellar venting system with Smith's AirEvac.

I've also whined about wearing helmets because my head feels so huge and they weight a ton. But this helmet is super light and I hardly notice it's there.

This helmet is perfect. Fits great with Prodigy's and it even fits my massive noggin. I had the Bad Lieutenant, and it was too bulky for my head. I enjoyed it until I fouind this one.
