Smith Threshold Sunglasses - Interchangeable

The Smith Threshold Sunglasses give you non-slip frames and interchangeable lenses, so you can leap from whatever edge it is you walk—with clear vision and style. Snowy cornices, rocky mountain bike trails, or the edge of the dock, the Thresholds' interchangeable lenses let you get the vision you need for every activity in one comfortable set of sporty shades. The Thresholds have Hydrophillic Megol rubber nose pads that won't give you pressure points on your schnozz and actually stick better when they're wet with sweat or water. Basically, you can count on the Thresholds to stay on your face no matter what high-energy activity you engage in. *See sizing chart for lens information.

Bottom Line: Take it to the edge with the Smith Threshold Sunglasses—then step on over.

Good Interchangable Glasses

By:
August 15, 2008

I've liked my pair of Thresholds for biking best. The light weight frame allows me to ride longer rides and never even feel them on my face. The option of a clear lense is also huge for me and I like to ride DH with a clear lense for use in and out of the trees. The new Interlocks look sweet, but if you want light weight, go with the Thresholds. Get a polorized lense and a clear lense and you'll be set.

Great fitting sunglass

These Smith Thresholds fit my small or medium dome and I like the fact that there are no large blind spots caused by thick ass frames.

Follow up on 'GOOD PRODUCT (but could be a little better)'

By:

I wanted all to know that I found my lost Thresholds with the problematic stems - on the ground and in the mud where they must have fallen out of my pocket 2 months ago. I cleaned them up a bit, and sent them to Smith under their 'lifetime warranty'. To my surprise, I received a new pair in less than a week - no questions asked. My new Thresholds appear to have very solid rubber coatings over the wire stems, and I don't see any potential problems. I also recieved a new case, and new set of lenses, even though I didn't send the old ones back as they are still in good shape. Thank you Smith Optics for your excellent lifetime warranty, and unsurpassed customer support!

GOOD PRODUCT (but could be a little better)

By:
January 18, 2008

My first pair was was an excellent fit, worked great on many mountain bike trips, and backcountry ski days. They stay in place when you sweat as advertised. They were also my main pair of shades for everyday use, driving around town, and general all-around use. The interchangeable lens system works very well. I used the versatile rose copper lenses the most, but yellow also came in handy on low-light level morning trail rides, and clear works very well at night on trails, and skiing. All of these lenses came with my glasses and can be stored in a Smith soft case that will compress when placed in a backpack taking up very little room. Their only weakness lies in the rubber coverings on the stems where they contact your head, or your hat if you where them over the bill when indoors. There are malleable internal wires inside the rubber that form the stems that allow you to shape them to fit you noggin, and the tips of these began to wear through the rubber over a period of about a year of everyday use. I repaired them several times with 'shoe goo', but to no avail. I didn't send them back to Smith to take advantage of the lifetime warranty because I didn't want to part with them for even a day. The protruding wires will also scratch the lenses where they contact them when folded shut, but the scratches are not in your field of view. So when I finally lost my beloved pair after three years of continuous use what do you think I did? I went down to my local bike shop and bought another pair! I'm hoping that these will not have the same issues as the last, but if they do, I will (probably) send them in to Smith for warranty. I would definitely recommend these to a friend - the most comfortable fit and best optics that I have ever owned.

oakleys have lost their style

By:
June 15, 2007

these are way better then oakleys, stay on your face and smith backs their stuff very well! good about answering their phone and taking care of any issues you may have. the lenses are great to have, had a pair break and bought a new pair in the exact model. I will only get another pair of oakleys when they bring back the original frogskin.

Good Sun Glasses

Smith are good overall glasses, plus being interchangeable means more glasses for the price of one. Good for larger head people.

All-round excellence

By:

Love these shades. They are everything you want: they look cool; they are comfortable; the clarity of the lenses is outstanding; they have Smith's lifetime warranty; they come in a hard, durable case. I've worn them skiing, biking, and running, and found them excellent in all conditions. Switching lenses out is very easy (I use the clear lenses when biking in the dark.) Can't think of a single negative thing!

Great glasses - great delivery

By:

I love these glasses, they are my second pair as my first were "borrowed" on a permanent basis. AND to top it off they were delivered so quickly from the other side of the world - cheers.

Sweet Shades, again!

By:
June 28, 2006

I just bought the Thresholds to replace a very aged pair of Smith Slider (01's), which I LOVED. I must admit that the Thresholds are BETTER! They do a fab job blocking the wind, and the interchangable lenses are a must for outdoor sports. I really like the smokey clear lenses versus the yellow ones that came with my sliders. Great price for polarized lenses, too!
