Damn - these lenses rock!

My Smith Theory sunglasses came with light tan lenses that I've been using for the past couple of years. Recently, they've been getting a bit grody, just from age and sweat, etc. These new, polarized grey lenses are much better. And I didn't have a problem with the old lenses, it's just that these are really terrific. They manage to allow plenty of light through, while completely cutting out all glare and overly bright light. Highly recommended.

The polarized replacement lenses are a necessary addition to the regular Smith Slider Toaster lenses. I wish you had then in platinum mirror polarized!

If you run mountain trails, these shoes R 4 U

I run in all sorts of conditions...asphalt, gravel trails, grass, tracks, soft trails, mountain trails, even snow. These are my favorite shoes for the mountains in dry warm weather! The reasons: 1) the roomy toebox, which allows your foot not to bang the inside of the shoe as badly during descents; 2) excellent adjustability of the arch and forefoot fit thanks to a good lacing system with long laces and lots of holes; 3) a great tread which mixes deep ramped knobbies (just like a good MTB tire) with a soft compound that can grip rocks well; and 4) relatively stiff soles which help the short foot transition (forefoot to toe, as opposed to heel to toe as in the flats) for uphills. The steeper you go, the better this gets! I read a couple of reviews of this shoe in which the "responsiveness" is rated pretty low, but I take that with a grain of salt because it's the opposite of the stiff soles that I like for mountain running. So, in short, specalized shoes...great for running on mountain trails, but what else would you expect from a ski gear outfit like North Face? They hepled me finish the Jungfrau Marathon last week with no foot problems!

I love the polaraized lenses. They took a couple of days getting used to but now I have no problems wearing them even when I am driving. I love Smith sunglasses and these lenses are just another reason why.

Use them every day.

Great lenses. My sliders pretty much live on my head, and these lenses seldom leave them. Darker than most, but that's a real plus here in the Utah sun. I like the Neutral Grey tint/nontint for the color trueness it gives me: A big plus when you're on the lookout for pictures.

Very good lenses

I was a devoted Suncloud fan, especially the Rose lense line. I miss the rose tints with polarization. The slider is nice for its replaceable lenses. The gray polarized work well for contrast and glare. These will be keepers.

Know what you'll use them for...

If you're looking for replacement lenses, you already know that the Smith Sliders are all around great sunglasses for outdoor activity. I replaced my brown lenses with the grey polarized because I knew that I would be spending 4 weeks on a boat in southern Georgia and the polarized lenses would be better at cutting glare. True to claim, I could see clearer and was less tired at the end of a 15 hour day. However, the polarized lenses do have a tendency to cause color shifts when looking through tinted or UV reducing glass (every car looks like it has flip-flop paint), so if you plan on using these a lot when driving, consider having a set of non-polarized lenses as well.
