Scarpa ZG65 XCR Hiking Boot - Men's

The Scarpa Men's ZG 65 GTX Hiking Boots combine big-boot support with running-shoe agility for rugged day hikes and overnight trips into the backcountry. Their Cordura and synthetic leather uppers pair up with Gore-Tex XCR liners to ensure your feet are well supported and totally dry no matter what the trail conditions are like. The ZG 65's Hi-Trail soles have all the traction you need for burly hiking on rough trails. Though these Scarpa boots weight only 2lb 11oz, they're ready to take on the toughest trails out there.

Bottom Line: Tough boots and day-hiking boots are now one in the same with the Scarpa ZG 65 GTX Hiking Boots.

Solid boot but not for narrow feet

By: grant_stap2180153(1)

Quick break-in, light, adequate support. Covered 40 miles in 3 days with 35 lbs pack. No problems with boot, except a poor fit. While I would imagine these would be great for someone with a greater foot volume, my low volume feet and narrow heels suffered through the trek. I tried different insoles and lacing techniques but found no relief. Would not recommend to anyone with less than average foot volume.

I'm trying to decide between the Scarpa Kailash GTX and the Scarpa ZG65 XCR. Which would be the best for me as a scout who's been to the Laurention Moutains in Quebec for 14 days totally self contained, and is planing on going to Algonquin park for a week in the summer. We do year round camping, but for three seasons of the I need a good water proof boot.

Comfortable hikers, out of the box

By: teleman(66)

On my first hike in these, they felt like I had been wearing them for a long time. I was looking for a high top, lightweight hiking boot for rocky trails and these have fit the bill. I replaced the footbeds with the Montrail Enduro footbeds from Backcountry. They gave a very supportive, custom fit. But they are very thick and unless you have a lot of extra room you may want to try a thinner footbed.

Great boots

These broke in very quickly. I think they are rugged and I know these will be around for many years. They are waterproof already tested in 3 inches of rain. My feet were dry throughout the hike.

Nice boot sizing charts are do not reflect the right sizes

By: rmets(7)

I thought the boots were great other than the size I ordered was at least one full size off. (Too large) Then went to exchange and of course the size I was looking for wasn't available.

Everything/everywhere boots!

Really great boots! I have worn them in desert, alpine and rainforest enviroments! I have been suprised how well these boots hold up to every climate I need to go to for my work! They've kept my feet warm, cool and dry when needed I also have Scarpa Dru boots but these cover all my needs in one comfortable package! This is my second pair, I literally wore the others out as I used them so much!

Best hiking boot I've ever owned.

By: Anonymous(1)

In my twenty years of hiking experience I have never worn a more comfortable, lightweight, waterproof boot (PERIOD)... This boot made it to 2 Colorado 14ers in fall with a 55 pound pack. I am going to buy 2 more pair, so I will always have some.

Out Of The Box

Great fit, solid construction, good performer. I wore them casually several times prior to my first North GA hike. 7 miles with a pretty intense ascent and small stream crossings. Performed very well with good traction, support, and moisture management properties. Only neg; footbeds provided no cushion and little support so I switched them out and have been pleased.

Substantial Boot

By: Anonymous(1)
September 28, 2006

Even as the lightest Scarpa boots in this line, these are substantial, solid boots with a firm feel underfoot. Not high-top trail runners. They do take some breaking in, but they fit my fairly wide feet well.

Out of the box comfort

Right out of the box these boots felt as though I had worn them for miles. I am very pleased with my selection. I am headed for a rim-to-rim hike at the Grand Canyon in May, so that should be the real test. I will give them a "4" until then. Will advise.
