Salomon Mega Trek 6 Light WP Hiking Boot - Men's

Careening across craggy peaks may not be your cup of tea, but mountain goats and the Salomon Mega Trek 6 Light WP Hiking Boot can't get enough of it. The Mega Trek 6 Light WP Hiking Boot features a waterproof membrane and waterproof / water resistant upper that just adore river crossers and puddle jumpers. Built to withstand boulder-congested summits while providing supple Salomon comfort on approaches, the Mega Trek 6 Light WP Hiking Boot chomps at the bit to follow whatever path you choose. Salomon's rugged Mountain Contagrip sole crosses the harshest terrain without breaking down while the 2D Advanced Chassis and molded EVA midsole repel the pressure of sharp rocks and exposed roots, keeping your feet snug and secure. Lock your laces into the self-locking eyelets after you break down camp and need to jam.

Bottom Line: Hit the trail with confidence this season.

'I Feel Good' (Maybe James Brown bought Salomon?)

I bought a pair of these 2 days ago and I'm very impressed. My feet aren't particularly big, small, wide or narrow, just a decidedly average size 9.5(UK). From the moment I laced them up they felt extremely comfortable with no signs of rubbing or pinching. The lace-lock feature is very handy and allows for a lot of adjustment to find the perfect fit. For obvious reasons I can't yet rate their performance but I'm quietly confident. I'll update this review next month after they've received their baptism of fire in Romania. M.

Any leather on this boot? Backpacker magazine listed only synthetic materials in the construction of this boot, and the "Tech Specs" on this site only mention "waterproof synthetic leather, water resistant textile, waterproof bootie." Yet on another part of the page it says "split suede".

Black Hills Tested, Geologist Approved

By: GeoJockey(1)

I'm a Geology student and avid backpacker so if my feet aren't ready to go I'm not ready to go. I just returned from an 18 day mapping trek in the Black Hills of SD and WY. These boots were put through hell, from scree running steep descents to scratching up near vertical faces to mired in the badlands. The stiff shank and well designed chasis are awesome, they provided the perfect amount of support in both ascent and descent. Pulling miles up and down grade every day with a pack my feet never became fatigued, nor did i experience any back pain like with previous experiences with $400+ boots. Salomon's lacing system is perhaps the next best thing to a good hiking boot as the invention of goretex, they lock and stay locked... nuff said. Traction is superb in all conditions, mud, wet rock etc.. Weight was never an issue with these boots, the fit and light weight synthetics made it as if they weren't even there. All in all buy this boot, there are plenty of more expensive boots out there, with all the new BS bells and whistles but to tell the truth i've tried a lot of them and this pair of salomons take the taco. Simply put, they're excessively comfortable, absolutely water proof, light and durable. No Complaints. Salomon has earned a place in my pack for a long time coming.

Salomon Hiking Boots are great!

My son has wide feet and we ordered Salomon hiking boots for him that were not a wide size based on the recommendation of the chat customer service (they explained that they ran wide). The shoes fit and my son has loved them.
