Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot - Men's

Slip on the stiff, powerful Salomon Men's Malamute Snowboard Boot and charge any line, any drop, and any mountain with confidence. In the Salomon boot family, the Malamute is the black sheep. This synthetic leather stunt boot loves steeps, cliffs, huge kickers, and SPEED. Salomon gave the Malamute Snowboard Boot its best heat-moldable liner for all-day comfort in the gnarliest conditions. An external power frame and asymmetrical construction transfers every ounce of your energy into the board for precise and powerful control when bombing the steeps. An internal heel strap keeps the liner locked down onto the sole for even more support and precision. Salomon even included their patented quicklacing system, getting you on the hill faster and easier than standard lace boots.

Bottom Line: From heli board expeditions to the steeps at Squaw, the Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot gives you the power and control to put it all on the line.

Malamute Black Label

Malamutes are comfortable and easy to walk at the end of the day. First time, I tried those on were very hard to fit my foot in. But, after four or five time using those they were easy to wear. I have bein wearing these boots since september 07, first time a tried Malamute was in Bariloche, Argentina then Spain, Baqueira Beret and USA, Vail last week. After some season of use and abuse Malamutes look like a new pair of boots and work much better every time I used those. On the other hand, Malamutes give you a perfect bending fit and give you an excellent control on you board. I highly recommend Malamute Boots by Salomon.

New Season=New Malamutes

Been riding these boots for the past 4 seasons and have no complaints. Super comfortable liners. Customized is always better but when it comes to factory liners you'll have a very hard time finding better. Super easy lacing system and I haven't ever had problems with the laces fraying or breaking. Really stiff boot to start out and they keep most of it but when these finally break in they are butters. They stay incredibly responsive but get a real nice mellow flex to them that makes em perfect. If you're looking for a high performance boot for anywhere on the mountain grab these. Mixed with a medium stiff binding you've got a set up that will kill it anywhere on the mountain. You will not be disappointed in salomon boots, especially these ones. I won't ride anything else, cept maybe the f24s next year...

Malamute 2007

Malamutes are comfortable, easy and fast to put on. Inserts are a great feature seeing as some people's ankles/feet may not be that big. Stiff and responsive boot. Good Buy. I'll be buying Salomon boots from now on.

Very Good Depending on Riding Style

This is the second pair of Malamutes I've owned and they are the best boots I have ever owned based on performance. They are stiff and very responsive and best suit a rider that does everything (freeride/freestyle). They break-in very well and are comfortable. The only problem I had with my first pair was that they fell apart by the end of the season. The laces broke in several places. This was after riding and working in them everyday for 5.5 months.

I bought these boots. They have about 50 days on them now. I just got a blister on my back heel for the first time because of pack-out. I replaced the insoles twice. The laces are frayed, as another reviewer mentioned. Another annoying design flaw is that the outer tongue now slides-out to one side after a few runs—regardless of how tight the boot is laced. Here is what is great about them: They are easily the best boots on the market. They have an inner strap to hold your foot down and prevent heel lift. All boots should have this! They lace so quickly and stay tight, it's absurd... and yet, nothing else will do. They excel in steep terrain and are very stiff without being restrictive. This design should be improved in small ways to make it perfect.

malamute snowboard boot

I purchased the boot at the end of the season a few years ago. The boot is very warm. When I first got the boot it was very difficult to get my foot into it. The boot was really stiff. It eventually loosened up .Now after using the boot about 40 times it has really packed out. I had to go to a thicker sock and replace the insole. I also noticed that the laces are fraying. This is because many ski resorts don't have a foot rests on the lifts so I rest the board on my right foot when riding the chair. I will purchase another pair , likely at the end of this season. You will have great control of your board with this boot. It is very responsive and you can really feel the board respond with a thin sock.

Jury's Still Out

I bought last years model new for this season. The first thing I had to do is replace the insole. It's interesting that expensive/quality boots have low quality insoles. Most boot manufacturers seem have this mindset. These boots also fit smaller than I was expecting as I have to wear an ultralite sock to fit comfortably into these boots. We'll see how they break in. The lacing system for this boot is convenient and I didn't need to tighten up midday. Though I am concerned how the technology will stand after day 20 with the thin laces.
