Reef Fanning Sandal - Men's

I bought a pair of these last year and love them. The bottle cap key on the bottom has been unbelievably handy at parties, camping trips and on boat trips. My friends are always amazed that I have a bottle cap key on my flip flops so I decided to get each of them their own pair.

I got them last week and I've yet to take them off outside of work. They're by far the best pair of flip flops I've ever owned or put on and I used to be a shoe salesman at a sports and outdoors chain. When I wore them the first day they squeaked a little when I walked; I think it was the foot bed needing breaking in, as it hasn't really done it since. The one exception being when they were wet from rain and I was walking on linoleum, they produced a bit of a squishy, squeaky noise. Within minutes of putting them on I'd realized they already felt much better than the old rubber pair I was used to wearing, and they were shaped much more naturally to my foot. Needless to say they're my new favorite pair of sandals hands down, plus the bottle opener has already come in handy.

Comfortable. You will instantly become the coolest person in the room when nobody else has a bottle opener.

These are pretty cool and I like stiffness of the sole yet they have good cusion. My only complaint is I get a wierd pain on the outside of my left foot, where the strap meets the flip flop. Could just be my foot.

Last time I enjoyed wearing flip flops, I was about 8 yrs old. None have been good since then, until I read reviews about these, bought them for myself, and wore them around this summer. At the beach whether in the sand or on the boardwalk, at the store, on the street, out anywhere...they've been awesome. They stay on your feet secure enough to give your toes some room but not loose enough to fly off. I haven't heard the click-clack sound from them like most flip flops. You can't even feel the bottle opener underneath it when walking. Super comfortable, stylish, great quality and the price was unbelievable on the Backcountry website. I've even got my wife wanting a pair. Definitely the best sandal/flip-flop I've ever had the privilege of wearing.

These sandals are by far the best flip flops I have ever owned they fit nice and tight so they don't flop around as mush as most they are super comfy. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Dude, these Reefs are by far the best flip flops I've ever had. Comfortable and stylish are pretty important, but you should see the chicks rush around me when I demonstrate the bottle opener on the bottom. The first time I did it, I got a chick all wet...from beer, of course. Drop what you are doing and buy 10 pair now!

I really, REALLY hate flip flops...but this is the first pair i've ever worn that I have liked. They offer a good amount of support and their softness. My biggest problem with flip flops in the past were loose straps, making them move on my feet, but these straps hug them which make for a very comfortable and effortless walk. The bottle opener works wonders too while on vacation in Myrtle.

I got two pair, and boy do they perform well. The reef leather smoothy I have is lighter, but it doesn't perform so well walking down the road. These Fannings are really designed to handle well in the sand, water, and concrete. I use these in a casual setting all summer long, and they provide the support I need. I've yet to feel poorly in these after a rough day on the beach, but be careful walking to much in the surf with these... you can develop chafing along the straps

It's definitely a fad to get these sandals. Maybe it was an impulse buy due to the Surfer Mag gal ad or the cheap discontinued price. It has been in my closet for over two years only get sun on a few wks out of the year where my 3 pairs of Chacos have seen over 200 days of the gold coast. I may say that they serve a good quick support in the profile but maybe a little rigid in the heel-almost rock like. My wide toe box seems to slip in but the straps seem too loose, making wearing it over 30 minutes seems tiresome. Forget about taking it on sand, it just seems to slow your pace down almost like the heel 'slouches'. I like to lounge but not have my feet feeling like gaining a workout trying to get to the water. I would recommend it to my frat pal (I don't have one).

I do love Reefs. Seriously... They have found how to design and make flip flops and never mess it up. Comfy, Camo, Casual, Cool and other c words. Except that one. Wash your mind out.

Before my dog chewed my old pair these were the best flip flops I have ever owned. I mean, air soles, arch support soft straps AND a bottle opener? Niiiice. PS- Check for crap before opening bottles.

Worn the same Reef pair every day, all the time for 6 months. They are still in one piece, and they spent plenty of time in salt water. Extremely comfortable. Your feet don't hurt after wearing them all day. Bottle opener is cool, except I don't drink.

How many shoes have you seen that have drinking shoe in the description? This is a great flip flop I wore them all summer and they really held up. Don't wear them in the water too much, it seems to break down the leather. The Fanning sandal also offers more support than some of the other sandals on the market. Fantastic flop!

These sandals are simply amazing. Comfy as hell. I originally ordered one size small (because that's what was available) but even so they still fit amazingly well. They do tend to build up a smell but I just ran them under some water and they're fine. The color icon on the heel wore off quickly, if that's a consideration. The bottle opener is awesome. Five stars.

I bought these sandals as a surprise for my husband and he loves them. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but he has a lot of fun showing everyone that he can open a bottle with his shoe.

Who would have thought of putting a bottle opener in the bottom of a thong (thats what us Aussies call them)! People love it when you pull one off and bust open a cold one. The bounus is they are actually really comfortable, I can spend days walking around in them. The yellow and green makes me feel patriotic, Mick Fanning is an Aussie afterall.

I already have several pairs of these sandals because they are the most comfortable sandals on earth. I don't drink much, but the bottle opener has come in handy around the house and is always a hit at parties/camping etc. It's built into the sole so it doesn't stick out and scratch things/rip chunks out of your hardwood floors. I just got the 4 pairs of these I ordered and I have to say they look even better than they do in the pictures. These were on sale and such a good deal. To put it into perspective I paid about $70CDN/pair for my old ones and I bought all 4 pairs of these including shipping/customs etc for $150CDN. So I pretty much bought them for half off. Not to mention they shipped next business day and were here within a week. Even at full price these are a steal!! Stock up while you can.

These are GREAT sandals, very comfy and I never need to carry a bottle opener again!

The first time you you don't have a bottle opener or lighter on you, these flips will pay for themselves. Not to mention the party trick value that they come with right out of the box. You can't go wrong with these flips.

I got these sandals for my husband because he both loves beer and has horrible arches and these looked more comfy than the rest. He wears them all the time and says that they are surprisingly supportive. He does use the beer opener occasionally but likes to wear them in general because of the good arch support and comfort. I should buy the ladies version...

How can you go wrong? The durability of reef sandals, and a bottle opener. Hell yes!

I bought my husband Reef sandals for Father's Day - especially for the bottle opener on the sole. He LOVES them - VERY comfy and they look great.

I can't say enough good things about this site. Got exactly what I wanted in a few days with the best price on the net. The Reef Fannings are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. I hate to wear regular shoes now. I really thought the bottle opener wasn't going to get used much but it's surprising how handy it is at parties and I got 2 other people to buy a pair. I will never own another brand of sandal again.

Simply the best flip ever. I am on my second pair and didn't even consider anything else. These are the only flip-flops I have owned for about 2 years now. My first pair lasted about 2 years, and were very durable. The air insoles mean they float, so no sinkage when you jump off cliffs and stuff. The soles are great, and I actually use them for light hiking on easy trails (namely to the hot springs) where I just want freedom and comfort. The soles never completely wore out on my first pair. The actual "thong" strap between the toes wore out first. Although they never broke, the material around them started to come off well into year 2 of almost daily usage. I call that acceptable wear and tear. Better yet, I travel a ton, and never bring a bottle opener - except that my sandals have them built in, so I guess I do bring one with me. What better way to open a bottle of suds when on the trail, beach, or in a hotel room? Ingenious. Simply the best design concept for a sandal - ever. Not to mention it is a great way to meet people at parties. Simply take off the sandal, pop their top for them, and start the schmoozing.... These sandals are very comfy and for some reason, never get any of that foot smell that some other brands get. Who ever thought one could get so excited about Sandals. Reef should make me a spokesperson for them I love these so much.

I bought a pair of Reef Fannings for myself and loved them! Then my boyfriend got a pair and he cant take them off. I just want to add that the Brown/Plaid ones are not exactly as pictured. They look cream colored on the site, but really they are tan with plaid. Still nice... just not what expected. But I will still order a few more pairs for the both of us!!

They are sweet! I went up 1 size from my normal shoe size. Also, the bottle opener works great! I tried it before I wore the sandals. Not sure if I would use it after wearing them but, we shall see what happens the next time I'm on the beach!

This is my third or fourth pair of Mick Fannings. I wear them almost everyday and love them. My only complaint is that they only last a season or so.

I am not a sandal guy but these might convert me. Very comfortable and stylish. Sure the bottle opener is a sweet function and probably the reason most people buy this sandal, but this is definitely a quality product.

Be aware, Educators and school officials around the US are aware of these shoes and how these shoes violate school policy. Don't expect to wear them to school and go un-noticed! You will get caught! My idiot son did!
