Pro-tec IPS Hip Pads - Women's

Anyone who has learned to snowboard knows it can be a pain in the ass, literally. That's why Protec makes the IPS Women's Hip Pads. The foam pads in this protective short take the brunt of hard falls, so you don't have to. These slim, protective shorts are barely noticeable under your riding pants, and the IPS Hip Pad's stretchy fabric breathes and feels good against your skin.

Bottom Line: The Protec IPS Hip Pads make wiping out less painful.

Thank goodness for padding!

First, let me just say thatI wiped out hard on my snowboard and these impact shorts saved my tailbone and the rest of my trip. Pretty sure things would have ended differently without having them on. The only thing is that they do make your rear look huge but its so worth it in the end-

Protection Almighty

After landing hard on my tailbone, wiping out on ice, I bought these. They definitely protect your tailbone and sides of quads. They can be a bit bulky under your pants but are definitely worth it. The elastic waist tends to be a bit tight (wear an XS in Burton pants and bought these in a small) however they're looser in the thigh area. Glad to have these when I ride.

Great , but tight waist elastic

I love the padding on these, helps protect my tailbone. They are mostly comfortable, except that the waiste elastic was so tight that I could barely bend over. My husband and I stretched it out a ton to make it fit. I could not go to the next size up, because they fit well, even a little loose, everywhere else.

Tight-azz

I'm still learning, so these were great in minimizing the bruising. However, they also make my butt look twice as big and my pants fit quite tight!

Great way to get your woman to ride.

I bought these for my girlfriend who is fairly new at riding. After going out the first couple times this year she would take a few pretty good falls each time. I'm not sure what her own opinion of these are, but I can tell you she's not bruised and sore anymore. And that's definitely a good thing. Her having fun = me having fun.

verify your size!

Don't order the youth size unless you're really small. My 75 pound, 11 year old daughter could not breathe with them on. She's wearing a Women's Small which are too big, but we made them work. This site did not have a size chart for these, you have to go to Pro Tecs website.

OH MY GOSH!

Wow, why didn't I have these the first time I tried snowboarding. I fell on my butt so many times I actually bruised my tailbone. For anyone that's done that you know it takes quite some time for that to heal then you're even cautious about going back out and hurting it again. Let me tell you though, since my husband bought these for me I've been falling on clouds. Not only are these hip pads comfortable they have the padding in just the right places. While protect my rear they are still slim line enough that I don't look like I have a huge butt. I highly recommend these for beginners and those who just wish to protect their assets.
