Polar F4 Heart Rate Monitor Watch
If your humungous heart rate monitor watch looks like it would fit your ankle better than your wrist, switch to the Polar F4 Heart Rate Monitor—a sleek, small design just for women. Not only will this Polar heart rate monitor watch fit you better, it also tells you the zone you're in, which allows you to focus on your workout. The F4 tells you how many calories you burned during a workout, so you can figure out how many ice cream sundaes you can eat when you're finished. Use the F4 Heart Rate Monitor as your daily watch as it shows time of day, date, and day of the week.
Bottom Line: Polar made the F4 Heart Rate Monitor for women's smaller wrists and with all the capabilities you need to track your workout.

Easy enough to set up but sometimes the watch and the chest strap don't sync up right away. Wish the chest strap wasn't so bulky

I just received my Polar HRM about a week ago. I used it for the first time this week - - - I love it! It shows how many calories you've burned, as well as min/max heart rates. You can switch back to the time, and it will continue to track heart rate and calories burned.
On a side note, when setting it up, make sure that you set the time correctly (12-hr vs. 24-hr) the first time, as I set mine for 24 hr and I haven't figured out how to change it back.
The chest strap is super comfortable, much more so than I thought it would be. I don't even notice it once it's on. Hint: put it under your sports bra and use it to keep the strap in place. The watch is comfortable; this is something that I specifically notice, since I am not a watch-wearer. It looks great, and is pretty girly :)
Enjoy!

Well I got this for my mother-in law as a Christmas gift and when she opened it up it didn't work. Called Backcountry, they recommended changing the battery. Went to change the battery and if we change the battery the warranty will be void. So we have to send it back and either get a new one that hopefully works or find a different brand.
My Polar F4 does not get the signal from my wearlink strap.
My Polar F4 does not get the signal from my wearlink strap. Even if it does on about the 5th attempt, it soon 'forgets' what it was doing and goes back to the stopwatch default setting.

You might want to check out the Polar support site (http://www.polar.fi/us-en/support/).
If worse comes to worse, you can always return the watch for another one or a refund, just make sure you contact backcountry.com first. Theyll usually hook it up with a return label.

When I worked out at the gym close to other people that have Polar HR monitors, it reads other people heart rate. I tried to re-set it but it still sometimes reads other people instead of my heart rate.

These are the heart rate limits that are used during yourexercise session. The F4 calculates your personaltarget heart rate limits based on your age basically the HRmax and HRmin. You can also adjustthe target heart rate limits yourself.

I am looking for a HRM that doesn't pick-up signals from anything else!! Also one that shows the correct HR after 30 minutes of use. These 2 issues are the main complaints I've had with the current one I'm using.

You need a monitor with functionality similar to Polar's "Own Zone" - it ensures that your monitor only reads your HR. Not available on all watches - becomes available as you move up the product range.
