Pacific Outdoor Equipment Deck Nav Dry Bag

The Wxtex Deck Nav Dry Bag makes it easy to use your GPS as you paddle, while keeping it and the gear you need easily and accessible dry. A TPU bubble hangs onto your GPS, and another window lets you safely charge your solar powered batteries as you paddle. A welded, coated zipper and storm flap keep gear inside the Deck Nav Dry, even through stormy seas. An additional exterior mesh storage pocket and daisy chain let you keep important items at your fingertips. Reflective tape keeps you visible while a lateral mounting system keeps the Deck Nav centered and secure.

Bottom Line: Navigate with ease and keep your gear dry.

Disappointing

Although nothing got wet, on the whole I was disappointed with the bag. The description touted something along the lines of a "lateral mounting system" to securely attach the bag to the kayak. The system is three velcro straps on the bottom, which might have been strong, but the kayaks I used had nothing to strap them to, so I ended up putting it under the bungee straps on the kayak. I wouldn't have trusted the bungees to keep the bag in place if I'd capsized though. The zippers were very difficult to use and after 5 days started separating from the bag. The GPS window sort of worked, but glare off the window obscured the GPS screen a lot of the time. SInce my GPS is water resistant, clipping it to the bungee worked better, and kept it in a better orientation for reading. I recommend not getting this bag.

Shoddy construction, the hook-and-loop closure was not properly sewn and quickly separated from the bag. Product returned and I will look elsewhere as the manufacturer was not helpful.

Great Deck Bag!

I just used this deck bag on a 5 day/4 night kayak camping trip to Lake Mead. When my boyfriend first saw the bag he made fun of it because it was so much bigger than his. He bought the "Sea Kayaker" Readers Choice "Seal Line Baja" deck. By the time we had our gear ready he had more stuff spread all over his deck, while everything I needed including my CamelBak, was inside my one bag. Also, the position of the paddle holder is closer to you than the Seal Line Baja Bag. I used my paddle holder all the time when stopped and my boyfriend always ended up trying to balance his across the cockpit. I paid less than the Readers Choice Bag and it was roomier and easier to use!
