Patagonia R1 Pant - Women's

Pull on the Patagonia Women's R1 Pant as your first line of cold defense for skiing, ice climbing, winter camping, or drafty cabin living. This form-fitting heavyweight base layer features a grid-fleece construction which allows moisture to breath and holds in body heat. The microfiber front slides easily under layers, and a zippered stash pocket holds your contraband. Quick drying fabric and low weight make the R1 Pant ideal for any mountain endeavor.

Bottom Line: When you layer up for the coldest weather, start with the R1.

Best for cold conditions

I had a pair and they were so great I bought some for my wife. These are the warmest midwieght pants you'll ever wear. I used to wear Duofold long underwear and fleece sweats under my ski pants. Now all I have to wear is these toasty little babies. Make sure it's cold out if you plan to do any strenuous activity because these pants are hot hot hot!

Worth it!

I was hesitant buying a pair of pants for $80, but they are so warm that they are worth every penny. They have non-pinching waistband and ankles, tapered to match your body. I would consider this a little heavier than medium weight, great for those snowy days on the slopes.

Nice pants

I wore it during my Alaska trip recently. It really kept me warm. I hiked with it on, very flexible, getting a little too warm, but not unbearable, since I guess it's quite breathable. If you are sure the weather will not be too cold, maybe find a thinner one. But it's good to always bring it, just in case.
