Patagonia Lightweight Travel Courier - 1400 cu in

Ultralight and durable construction make the Patagonia Lightweight Travel Courier an ideal choice for your next airline trip or day at work. This Patagonia shoulder bag uses ShiftLayer nylon for incredible resistance to tearing, so it won't get trashed while it goes through standard airport carnage. You can also pack the Lightweight Travel Courier into its own pocket and stash it in your luggage. Then take it out and fill it with gifts for the return trip.

Bottom Line: When weight and space become premium concerns, travel with the Patagonia Lightweight Travel Courier.

Looks good and packs into its own pocket. Huge capacity. It's perfect to bring along for travel or shopping, and makes an awesome gym bag!

I have never really liked back packs. Can I use the for day hikes?

I use messenger bags all day walking/riding around the city, but this pack really isn't designed to be hauled around on a big day hike.

You might want to check out Timbuk2, Crumpler, or Chrome messenger bags. Alternately, try on some Camelbak packs. They cost a little bit more than the competition, but they're much higher quality, intelligently engineered, and have a practically indestructible/non-leaking reservoir.

If you do decide to get a messenger bag, I highly recommend getting a pad strap along with it.

this bag is super light and very comfortable. it does not dig into your shoulder at all even when stuffed full with all kinds of heavy stuff.

I have 3 of these. I think it's because they're so roomy when you need them to be and are great as an everyday bag if you like the swoosy sound it makes. I do, obviously :) The blue and green colors are really bright. The strap adjusts which is always good. This bag is a great carry on and/or gym bag. Holds your water bottle too. I hope they make it in more colors next season.

Great Bag

This is my 3rd bag I've purchased in this style. It's a wonderful travel bag. It's lightweight, holds so many items, carries over your shoulder to leave your hands free. The mesh water bottle panels are longer than usual so items don't drop out. It's especially great for putting under your airline seat. It has a top zipper so items don't fall out and it compresses to squeeze inbetween seats in those tight airline "cattlecar" rows. I think just by the fact that this is my 3rd color should show I'm absolutely sold on this bag. Just lent one to my sister in law for her upcoming travel flight. Do yourself a favor and get this bag.

Thumbs Up

I bought this because it weighs next to nothing. The strap is very adjustable and it really takes a good stuffing. The outside zip pocket is useful and the top zips shut. When fully packed it still fits in the overhead bin. Exactly what I wanted.

so happy

It is indeed ultralight, but the best thing about this bag is it's way roomy --I can fit a jacket and two fleeces AND my hiking boots inside--but it cinches around the top so you're not hauling around a floppy tote back.
