Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-Neck Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

The Patagonia Men's Capilene 3 Zip-Neck keeps you comfortable during aerobic activities in varying temperatures. The dense honeycomb Capilene 3 fabric retains heat while you sit at a belay station, and it dumps heat when you unzip your jacket while skinning in the backcountry. Patagonia brushed the Capilene 3 Zip-Neck base layer and gave it flat-locked seams for comfort, compressibility, and easy layering.

Bottom Line: Go with the Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-Neck when you know you'll be working hard in cold weather.

Patagonia Cap 3 - Good as ever.

Patagonia clothing is not as bulletproof as it once was. I have been purchasing long sleeve zip Patagonia knit shirts regularly for over ten years. Fortunately the last three Cap 3 LS zip shirts that I purchased last winter are still warm, comfortable and indestructible. The Cap 2 LS zip shirts tend to snag and unravel, creating large holes in the sleeves. You will appreciate the Cap 3 LS zip shirts for a long, long time.

"Wick"ed

This a awesome shirt. One thing though these tend to run smaller than other Patagonia merchandise. I find this true in all the Cap 3 stuff. So order a size up. Also, I give a HUGE thumbs down to the Cap 3 crew. I have two and both have had the neck seems come undone. The zips seem to have no problem.

Solid workhorse layer.

Good semi-athletic fit. The capilene fabric is everything it's hyped up to be. Got a great buy on it here. If I can keep the spaghetti sauce off of it, everything will be perfect.

Really is a good value

The Capilene 3 shirt I bought has to be one of the better purchases I've made for athletic gear. The shirt is quite thin yet keeps you very warm on cold days. I regularly run or bike with it in 40 degree weather and it gets the job done. The only complaint I have is it's not too effective blocking the wind. Otherwise, this shirt really is a good deal. Also, it's cut very well and not too slim fit.

This shirt is practically bulletproof. Its insulating capacity is more than adequate -- I wear it over one other midweight layer while skinning up in 20 degree temperatures. It's also very good looking, a shirt you can wear on the town. The sizing is accurate, and I like the length, which makes it easy to tuck in. This product is everything you'd expect from Patagonia, once again.

Capilene 3 - big improvement

Good fit and the fabric feels good. Love the neck thickness and height, also, so far it doesn't have the capilene funk.

I bought a white Capilene recently then promptly turned around and bought another. Without doubt my favorite shirt, I wear it every day. Perfect fit, very comfortable, nice high collar. Wonderful.

I have this shirt in black and gray. I consider it my staple piece of clothing. Can be worn in the summer on cool nights, or winter, layered with other stuff. Just purchased it in cool new brown, and green. Use it for running, mountain biking, and even to the office! New material is well worth the extra cashola.

Fits well and keeps me warm. I wasn't sure that it was worth the money, but it definitely is.

Impressive Performance

I just got back from a week of camping on the Coconino Rim just S. of the Grand Canyon. I expected mid Sept. lows in the 40s. Instead they ranged from 23 to 30. Patagonia's Capilene 3, coupled with an old (as in faithful) fleece sweater and a windbreaker, kept me comfortable. It's amazingly warm for its weight/bulk. I'll consider it a "must take" for cool & cold weather. My only gripe is the slightly-too-snug fit, but that makes it easy to wear under other layers.
