Patagonia Capilene 2 Zip-Neck - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Not only are the Capilene 2 zips extremely versatile & great to wear anytime, formal wear & ties are the exception, they are highly functional. I wear mine mainly when backpacking as a single layer, snowshoeing when multi layers are required, & around the house during the winter months. They dry faster than any other synthetic & don't get too funky when worn repeatedly over a period of time without being washed.. I've never encountered a fabric or zipper problem. If the new generation lasts as long as the original, they are also a great long term investment.

the new Patagonia capilene 2 is lighter, better fitting, warmer and cooler than its predecessor. the cut is no longer "boxy" and the collar stays in place making it look elegant. terrific by itself or as a first layer. Patagonia capilene and or wool base layers feel so amazingly soft against the skin... (you want to wear all as first layers).

My wife got me into zip-necks some years ago and are my standard wear in the wintertime. I thought the Cap 2 would be too light considering how thin it is, but it is amazingly warm. It fits perfectly, very comfortable and good looking enough for me to wear to work. This zip neck is now getting more use than the other 4 I've got!

From single-layering for cool weather cycling to base-layering for below zero skiing, this shirt does it all with simple style and outstanding temperature regulation. No matter where I go, one of my many Cap2 zip-necks goes with me.

terrific capilene 2 shirt. it's lightweight and breathes very well. it's also very comfortable and warm. i also have a crew one, but the zip neck gives more versatility. it's a wonderful compliment to a wardrobe that should already include a capilene1 and a capilene3!

I really like this piece of clothing for backpacking or hiking a good trail. Wicks moisture and looks great too.

Long past is the day of long underwear that you wouldn't want to be caught dead wearing without something over them. Patagonia has turned their classic long underwear into a go anywhere, do anything top for outdoor activities. I recently did a hike on the John Muir Trail, and this was practically the only shirt I wore the whole time, it was so comfortable, versatile, and great looking. If you're looking for a good, wicking, long sleeve shirt for hiking, look no further!

I picked up this for when the Patagonia 3 zip top is too warm; say above ~60 while active. I'd rather wear this in warmer weather than a short sleeve tee for the versatility. The zip-neck allows venting when exertion warms me up, and zips up to hold in the body heat when I stop and cool down. The elastic wrists hold their snugness while sliding up and down my forearms depending on the temperature. It's not merino, but it doesn't stink too bad after heavy use and it dries faster. Paired with a wind-shell it's one of my favorite spring/fall weather backpacking combinations.

Mainly use it for running & other highly aerobic activities. Wicks well, highly breathable. Can wear it a few days in a row for running, has little odor (unlike cheap brands). I haven't had a problem with stink setting in & lingering after tossing it in the laundry, always comes out fresh. Light weight zip neck doesn't get in the way & fold of fabric keeps zip from rubbing. Works well in the upper 40s to 50s w/ little breeze & on windy days w/ a Marmot Ion its perfect. Wouldn't use it as baselayer under pile fleece as it tends to hang on pile, would use a smooth silkweight like capilene 1 instead.

Capilene is great for running in 50-ish degree weather. Very lightweight, longsleeve. Great wicking.

Great layer for all round use. Been using as a base layer under my Houdini on those frosty morning rides to work. Although the sleeves could be a tad longer...

This shirt is very baggy and almost as thin as silk (you can see through it). I have one other Cap2 top and the newer version doesn't even compare. My older one is thicker is no were nearly this baggy. This is going back :(

Very past drying it will fix in the climate which is various and there is a possibility which it will put on it is a fine zip T.

Patagonia lightweight Capilene zip t-necks have long been a staple of my wardrobe, but the neck of this newest iteration is flimsy and floppy--single layer doesn't stay up around your neck when fully zipped. The rest of it is comfortable. Men's small fits medium women.

Like the original Capilene from Patagonia this lightweight base layer is my go to piece when I'm backcountry skiing, climbing, or out in the cold shoveling snow all winter. The zipper is smooth and doesn't catch like other base layers I own and the soft Capilene keeps me warm and dry even when on a long ski approach when perspiration is at its peak. The under arm panels allow for even smoother movement. I know this one will last for years, just like the last one I bought from Patagonia.
