Patagonia Stretch Element Jacket - Women's

The Patagonia Stretch Element Jacket for Women puts the up in to upward mobility. With a close attention to detail and input from hardcore climbers, Patagonia has updated their Stretch Element Jacket. Using stretch fabrics in climbing gear is obvious at this point, however, having complete waterproofing and breathability isn't always a given. Constructed with Patagonia's Composite Seam System or CSS, a unique way to seal the seams of softshell and hardshell fabrics (patent pending,) the Stretch Element Jacket offers the most rain and snow protection of any alpine orientated outerwear. Another benefit for climbers is the enhanced breathability of stretch-woven fabrication. Climbing frozen waterfalls and slogging to snowy summits results in a high volume of personal moisture. The Stretch Element Jacket quickly disperses this moisture while blocking outside precipitation and retaining warmth. A contoured fit works well with insulating layers and doesn't weigh you down when moving upward.

Bottom Line: Always be in your Element.

Great jacket

I love this jacket! I can't believe how much Patagonia has upgraded its features over the years. This jacket is potentially smarter than me. It just functions perfectly, no matter what you need it to do. All these tucked draw cords and pockets; a super comfortable lining that slides over your under layers. And it looks good.

So glad I finally bought this jacket!

I'd been wanting a really good hard shell for the longest time but was hesitating because of the price. So it finally dawned on me that buying a bunch of cheaper jackets that I'd end up not wearing was actually more expensive than buying the one I really wanted. So I took the plunge and I'm delighted. This jacket is amazing! The cut is perfect, it's so stretchy and comfortable, very breathable, and totally waterproof. This is the last hard shell I'll ever have to buy.

One Sweet Jacket

This jacket is worth every penny. I can't believe how lightweight and comfortable it is, and that's on top of all the other amazing qualities this jacket was made for. I highly recommend this for a 100% waterproof jacket that moves with you. It does not feel like a hardshell at all!

Super effective, super light jacket

I have to say, this jacket is worth every penny—especially when it is paid with your tax refund! I've been looking for an upgrade on my waterproof layer for awhile now, and I'm glad I waited until this jacket came out. The welded seams are top-notch, the comfort is amazing (you'd think you were in your pjs with the little bit of stretch that lets you move freely) and the jacket is light as a feather. Everything is detailed and well thought out. I'm able to customize the hood fit depending on whether I have on my climbing helmet, a hat, or just a bare head. Lots of nice zippers (the pitzips have two zipper pulls, so you can customize your vents), and the water repellency is secure. I haven't had a major storm yet, though I tested it in the backyard with the hose and stayed dry. It packs down small and disappears in your pack until you need it. No regrets!
