Patagonia Active Boy Short - Women's

The body-hugging, wicking Patagonia Women's Active Boy Shorts keep your sassy side covered. With a low-rise cut and functional fabric, the Boy Shorts go just as easily under yoga pants as your favorite jeans. Spandex in these undies mean they move with you as you walk around town or hike the mountain trail.

Bottom Line: The Patagonia Active Boy Shorts are the undies of choice for girls who never grew out of their tomboy phase.

I wear these boy shorts snowmobiling and they never, ever creep up.

Cute, not so comfy

Active should not be in the name of these undies. Like the other reviewers said, once you start to move, the undies ride up uncomfortably. The legs need to be a bit longer to hold the shorts down.

Super Comfortable

These undies are fantastic and go in the washing machine easily. I ordered a Medium and I'm usually a 4 or 6 so they sometimes ride up a bit. That's my own fault though, the product is great! They are comfy and keep me dry when I'm out hiking or climbing.

hiking girl

I found the Boy Shorts to be very stylish, but impractical for hiking. As stated by the other reviewers they ride up when you move. The suggestion made by one of the reviewers that additional length be added and a stronger elastic around the legs is right on the money. I'll be looking for another brand that better fits my needs.

Riding Up

By: Anonymous (1)
June 16, 2006

Yep, I too have experienced the ride up factor of the boy shorts (running, walking, sleeping, skipping). (They sure are cute though!) The older model (3 years ago) was great, but this newer one is killing me. I think they forgot to test these before production? Try the briefs, they are much better.

Ridin on up

I agree with the other reviewers, they do tend to ride up a bit. But they are very comfortable. Wear them snowboarding and have no problems.

If you'd only stand still

By: Tumblina (1)

I bought these to wear on a thru-hike, thinking they'd be less revealing whilst changing in crowded shelters. They do wick moisture nicely, but they constantly ride up. I've tried different sizes, different activities, different outer wear. Nothing helps. The minute I move, so do they.

Run up.

By: Ashlyn (1)

They're a little bigger than I thought and ride up a bit when I run, but I still like them, especially since I wear spandex underneath and it doesn't really matter if they ride up a little.

Boy short not all that

By: jb brockman (10)
July 21, 2005

I think Patagonia missed the mark on this one. While they look cool, the fabric is too loose around the legs, as well as too short, so the underwear tends to ride up. I've spoken to friends (even those with small butts) and they experience the same problem.
