Paha Que Cottonwood 12x10 Shade Shelter

Sunshine is great and all, but at times it can be too much of a good thing. The Paha Que Cottonwood 12x10 Shade is perfect for just such an occasion. The Cottonwood throws a tremendous amount of shade, and weighs only 16 lbs, so it's easy to carry to a picnic in its duffle-style bag. The Cottonwood can be set up in under 5 minutes, and is freestanding (though in wind it turns into a giant sail, so we highly recommend you stake it down.) Next time your family has an outdoor function to attend, don't bake in the sun, bring the Cottonwood.

Bottom Line: For portable shade, look no further.

Not great for the beach

By:
October 12, 2005

We got this as a shade tent for the beach. We had checked to see if it would hold up O.K. in the wind and were told it would. It was an added bonus that it is so light. We had to use sand bags to really secure the anchors into the sand though. After the third day, one of the poles broke while we were putting it up. It would probably hold up to beach winds if it was vented in the roof. This site was great to work with great price, shipment came quickly and no problem getting refund!

How is this shelter for rain protection? Can you still sit under it in rain or does it leak if wet?

Flag

150 denier polyester will provide some rain protection, but when thoroughly soaked it won't be any good. You can put some waterproof coating on it (very spendy), or you can take a look at your local big-box store for waterproof canopy.

cottonwood sunshade

By:
August 3, 2005

I recently purchased the cottonwood sunshade after checking it and 3 or 4 others out, I use it for motorcycle camping to give our tent and ourselves some shade or rain protection, sets up easily, its pretty lightweight (considering its size) and it’s really well made. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a quality sunshade, and thanks to the folks at this site for a pain free and fast shopping transaction.

Paha Que Cottonwood

By:

I bought this as a replacement for the standard sunshade with aluminum poles and mesh poly shade and over the "easy up" shades. Looking for something lightweight to carry, compact, ease of setup, sun protection, and pleasing to the eye—this did it all and at a reasonable price. The only minor drawback is not having a rod of some type to hang a towel, ski vest, etc. from. Highly recommended.

Another great product from Paha Que'

By:
July 11, 2004

We love our Cottonwood Shade tent. We have the Paha Que' teepee that we use with our pop-up camper. It works wonders with our outside shower and chemical toliet. We have three children under the age of 6 and need to take advantage of equipment that we can put up quickly. That was the main reason we went back to another Paha Que' product. It only takes us a few minutes to put it all up. At only 16 pounds, it does not contribute much to our weight for towing. Thanks, great shade!
