I had been using a dakine heli pack for day hikes and was very unhappy with it (harsh on the shoulders, zippers hard to access). The Talon is so much better. It is lighter to start with, the straps and back panel are light and airy, great for hot summer days, the zippers are plenty easy to access and use, etc. Plenty of room for a layer, water, sandwich, first aid kit, etc. It's just perfect for day hikes.

Perfect!

I have a larger Osprey (Aura 35) but this Talon is perfect for day hikes. The woman-specific sizing is the best. I am short-waisted and cannot wear many other sized packs.

Awesome

I just bought a second one. Great for running and biking to/from the office ... thus the need for a second one if I leave one at home/office. Looks cool, holds a lot of stuff, and is capable of more than I'll probably use it for. Plus it's comfortable ... you forget you are wearing it a lot of the time. I'm a fan.

Love it

I am very happy with this pack. I have been looking for a day pack that fits 'just right'. I am 5'6 (almost) and 127lbs. Medium frame. This is a perfect size for my day hikes. Water bottle, cell phone, my bee sting kit, an extra t-shirt or rain jacket and maybe even a small bagged lunch will fit nicely. Couldn't be happier!

I bought this pack for riding my bike. It is a nice size for short trips and stays put on your back. It works well to carry an extra layer of clothes or a lunch. Very satisfied with the workmanship of pack almost wish it was a little more simplified but over all very pleased.

My first day pack for hiking. I did a lot of research and looked at bricks & mortar places before ordering this online. I'm very pleased. Great construction, comfortable and looks good too.
