Osprey Packs Airporter Lockable Zipper Bag - 8225cu in

Tough wilderness conditions can wear down your bag, but nothing on earth can match the unspeakable horrors that airline baggage handlers will unleash upon your precious pack. Osprey's Airporter cleverly addresses the problem of these vicious valets by encasing your bag in a protective sack with its own strap so that no amount of hurling, dropping, or any other abuse will touch the bag inside. The Airporter seals with a customs-friendly webbing draw cord, and stashes away in its own pocket once your bag is safely away from the baggage carousel.

Bottom Line: Barbarian bag handlers have met their match.

Duffle Big Enough for Two Packs

By: Nancy B (1)

This duffle bag fit my husband's and my fully-loaded backpacks en-route and returning from Europe. Really essential so our packs didn't get damaged. Don't try to load the packs one on top of the other, but more or less end to end with a bit of overlap in the middle. The long length of the duffle bag easily accommodates this style of packing.

Does precisely what it claims to, but is too big for many packs

This is, essentially, just a giant bag to enclose your backpack when you check it at the airport. I was surprise that there's no way to secure the bag closed, you just pull a drawstring as tight as you can. Backcountry.com only sells the largest size of these, although Osprey makes 3 different sizes, and it completely swallowed up my Aether 60, making carrying it in the Airporter a little awkward. The Airporter does, however, do a great job of protecting your pack while traveling.
