Outdoor Research Revel Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research loaded the Men's Revel Jacket with features designed to keep you comfortable whether you're on an afternoon hike or month-long backpacking trip. The TorsoFlo venting system zips from the hem to the armpits to allow total control over your temperature without the need to stop moving. Outdoor Research added an internal media pocket for those who like to bring tunes on the trail, and this pocket also doubles as a stuff sack when you need to store the Revel Jacket. If you find yourself in a stormy situation, just pull the hood out of its stash compartment in the collar, seal up the hem with dual drawcords, and keep moving while the Revel Jacket keeps you bone dry.

Bottom Line: The Revel Jacket is proof that Outdoor Research takes you comfort seriously.

not quite what I would expect

By:

I have always loved OR. I think they have well thought out products. This is why I am disappointed with this jacket. It is way too thin and the sleeves are crazy short. if you just want something you can pack away in a sack for emergency use only, then it would be fine

pertex

By:

pertex is a british performance material that you yanks should really use more. this jacket is very light and packable, an excellent shell to have in a backpack. totally waterproof(might not last without some re-dwr-ing)and as fart as I can tell no less breathable than gore-tex, though significantly less breatahble than Montane or Vaude eVent jackets. all in all a very good mountain hiking shell.
