Exped SynMat Sleeping Pad

Sleep comfortably outdoors in winter or any other season with the Exped SynMat Sleeping Pad. Exped laminated microfiber insulation inside this mat's abrasion-resistant polyester shell, so the cold ground doesn't suck your body heat away as you sleep. The SynMat deflates and compresses to about the same size as other inflatable sleeping pads and comes with a stuff sack for protection. Outdoor Research now added a built-in pump to help you inflate this pad quickly.

Bottom Line: You'll stay so toasty on top of your insulated Exped SynMat Sleeping Pad that you won't want to get out of your sleeping bag in the morning.

Patience with the pump

Lay down to test it out and woke up 2 hrs later! Won't go back to self inflating, sooo comfortable. The pump is ok, just slow down and let it fully inflate before each pump or you will get nowhere... Packs away smaller than anything. If i sent it back I'd be looking for another as there ain't no better. Had the downmats but these are warm enough and not as worried about moisture with the synthetic fill.

Exped 9 - Great pad

I usually don't sleep well on the ground but this pad makes it quite comfortable. I really like how small it packs up. Took a little practice to work the pump effectively. Well worth the money if you're looking for comfort and convenience.

These are the best pads ever used or slept on I own 4 of the thermarest pads and a few knock off and these pads are so comfortable to use and great to set up Highly recommend them. I have used them in cold weather but not in the winter as of yet. Can no wait to try in the winter though.

Not a fan of the pump

Backpacker gave this pad a good review, but noted that the pump isn't much help. I couldn't get it to do much myself, and if there's a trick to it, the enclosed guide isn't much help. But my biggest beef with the pump is that it makes the rolled pad much thicker than it needs to be (but only on one end). So it's a pain to cram it into the stuff sack, b/c it rolls up asymmetrically. Comfortable pad, but the pump (which I wouldn't use anyway) is a pain. No thanks. I'll be returning this one.
