Outdoor Research Trio Jacket - Men's

The Outdoor Research Men's Trio 3-in-1 Jacket includes a waterproof breathable shell and a removable EnduraLoft synthetic liner jacket to give you mountain-ready versatility. Wear these two layers together in wet, cold winter conditions, or use the pieces separately to adapt as weather changes. Outdoor Research made both the hood and powder skirt removable, so you can shed weight or add protection as the conditions dictate. The Trio Jacket takes on anything from a summer rain shower to a winter blizzard.

Bottom Line: The Outdoor Research Trio Jacket—any season, any weather.

Multi use jacket

Well, definetly glad i had this jacket for the winter of of 08 in Idaho. The shell does superb, maybe to loose, but great weather protection. Rarely would I wear the two jackets together. Someone who is looking to get a great 3in1 this is a great jacket. Suprisingly good wind block for the inner liner. Shell has gotten dumped on, been in thigh high pow, and I have never gotten wet underneath. the sip pits are quite versatile as they can open larger than most. Overall I would reccomend this jacket for people who ski, or use the backcountry a lot. Shell can be used all year long as it is fairly lightweight.

potentially the most versatile piece in my closet

I just got this piece, so I am still waiting for the powder to fly to give it five stars. Lots of great details for a modular jacket, particularly the powder skirt that I have found I can switch between my liner jacket or my shell. It is great hiking in the rain, can't wait to ski with it this winter.
