Outdoor Research Furio Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research's goal in creating the Men's Furio Jacket was to design a shell that won't weigh down your pack, will hold up to nasty weather, and that adjusts to warmer climates. A combination of lightweight Gore-Tex Paclite and tough Gore-Tex Pro Shell gives the Furio Jacket the durability of your ski jacket with a huge weight savings. Outdoor Research's TorsoFlo zips open from your elbows all the way to your waist, so you can adjust from total storm protection to on-the-go ventilation in seconds. Whether you're a climber or a skier, this versatile jacket should be with you whenever you head into the mountains.

Bottom Line: Tough and light—the Outdoor Research Furio Jacket.

Great ski jacket. I gave it 4 stars because I prefer more pockets, this only has two chest pockets on the outside (and two inside). Great fit. I am 6'2" 190 and a L is perfect. I still have room to wear a baselayer jacket underneath.

Furio Jacket

Very well made jacket, with one of the coolest features I've seen in a shell... poncho-style flexibility with the side zippers that go all of the way up to the elbows. To add to some it's great features, I really liked the adjustable hood, which doesn't hinder your view once adjusted (which is also very well thought out) Unfortunately I had to return it because OR's largest size (XXL) was a little snug if I wore a lightweight fleece. Excellent jacket for those with a slim build. Instead I got the Marmot Ascend softshell jacket because their XXL measured 50-52" for chest size (compared to OR's 49"), which happens to be another great jacket.

This is a bomber shell!

I love this shell. Pick this shell up once and you'll feel just how bomb-proof this thing is. I love the full-length side zips (unlike many other shells which feature only pit zips or zips that only go half way down the side of the jacket). All of the zippers on this jacket are a little stiff, however I'm sure they'll loosen up with time. Also, I love how I can move freely in this jacket --the range of motion in this jacket is great! If you're interested in this jacket, just note that it seems to run a little big. I typically wear an XL, however that was way too big for me. I've got the L and even with a full complement of base layers & insulating layers on underneath, it fits me perfectly. It's got plenty of room up top in the chest and mid-section, yet forms tightly enough around the waist that I won't be worrying about snow flying up underneath when I bite it in the pow.
