Small and Dry

By:
November 24, 2008

The small sack I have works great for clothes and food. I've never had anything end up getting wet even after sitting in the bottom of a wet canoe for hours. 18 months later and it's still waterproof.

Has anybody tested this for use as an emergency floatation device?...

Has anybody tested this for use as an emergency floatation device? Seems like it could work.

Flag

well you'd have to leave it inflated all the time, and even then it's not a very good idea.

Good Dry Bag for Day Trips or Backpacking

By:
October 15, 2008

It's been said here in other reviews but the Outdoor Research Helium Dry Sacks are great when you just need to keep softgoods and clothing dry. I have used this for a couple daily trips on the Main Salmon and it worked great to carry some warm layers for after the trip. It also works great for backpacking to keep clothes or a sleeping bag dry. This is definitely not the dry bag you want for a two week trip down the Grand Canyon where you need to keep all of your gear dry but for a short trip to keep clothing dry it's a solid bag.

Great bag for sleeping back

By:
August 22, 2008

These bags are mode for clothing, sleeping or other gear like electronics. Not heavy weight goods like 25 pounds. I pack my down sleeping bag and sleep gear in mine with the knowledge that a pack dunking or rain will not rob me a warm nights sleep. The bag when fully stuffed is like a balloon and can be punctured by a sharp stick. But for very light weight storage of clothing they are great. I own several. The Sea to Summit Event bag is easier to compress.

Crappiest Bag you can buy

By:
June 14, 2008

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP! Its extremely thin and even though it is the largest bag you can buy the threads ripped when I put 25lbs of gear in it and lifted it in its closed form. Also they sent me the wrong color, I ordered black and got orange. I didnt have time to send it back because I needed a bag for memorial day so I just decided to deal even though I paid $30 plus dollars for this crappy bag. It will keep your stuff dry if it doesnt rip.

So light!

By:

Excellent sack, very light and 100% waterproof so far, I'll reserve my judgment on the durability as it looks a bit flimsy.... good closure system
