Outdoor Research Solitude Soft Shell Pant - Women's

The Outdoor Research Women's Solitude Pants provide excellent breathability to keep you from overheating when you work for your turns on a backcountry ski tour. The DWR-coated stretch-nylon shell keeps the fresh snow from soaking your skin, while a brushed-fleece lining adds insulation and comfort. Outdoor Research gave the Solitude pants two side vents to help you cool down on unusually warm days, and they added elastic cuffs to help keep the snow out when you ride deep powder.

Bottom Line: Just because you earn your turns doesn't mean you have to suffer. Stay more comfortable in the backcountry with the fleece-lined Outdoor Research Solitude Pants.

Comfort and Performance!

I have used these pants for winter hiking, backpacking and cross-country skiing in the Northeast US. I'm very happy with them; they fit very well - not too snug but not baggy at all - and are perfect for activities when you are constantly moving. The material is substantial enough to keep me warm in temperatures below freezing, but still breathes and lets moisture escape so that I don't sweat. The vents on the side of the legs also help to do the same. The inner lining feels very comfy against my skin. My only complaint is that the pockets are very tiny and poorly placed. I can't reach them when I have a pack on. I wish there were at least one pocket on the side of the leg where I could store small items. Overall, an excellent softshell pant!
