Oakley Minute 2.0 Sunglasses - Transition Lens
Oakley made the unique Minute 2.0 Sunglasses for active people with smaller faces. These Oakley shades have Transition lens technology that responds to whatever lighting condition you are in. When you step into the shade, the lenses lighten up. Head out in bright sun and they will darken to block 100% of UV rays. The shatter-resistant Plutonite lenses have a Hydrophobic coating which repels rain, sweat, skin oils, and dust to keep the lenses clear. The lightweight frames have Oakley's Three-Point-Fit technology so you won't have to worry about your shades sliding off.
Bottom Line: Performance shades that change to suit the light.

Will or will not transistion sunglasses work when driving a car?...
Will or will not transistion sunglasses work when driving a car? My new won't darken when I am driving. I just had cataract surgery and put 'window glass' with transistion added. They work fine outside, but not when driving? Why?

I just heard this answer from an Oakley rep. Apparently they dont work in a car because of the roof over your head. It prevents the sunlight from hitting the glasses the way its needed in order for the lens to darken. Even though you get the light coming in from the windshield and windows, something about not having the right amount of UV rays hitting them prevents them from changing. If you had a convertible or a sunroof that you were directly under, that was the only instance they would work. She said many people returned the glasses because they were constantly squinting in their car. I was very interested in getting a pair of the transitional lens but that turned me away from them because I am in the car a lot. Hope that helps.
