Oakley Half Jacket Sunglasses
The Oakley Half Jacket Sunglasses have an open-edge design to expand your field of vision. Designed for high-speed sports, these shades let you move as fast as you can. When the sun fades or flares, switch to a new set of optional lenses (must be purchased separately) and change your entire outlook on life. Accented with true metal icons, the lightweight O Matter frame includes Unobtainium earsocks and grip anchors. The lenses retain the peripheral clarity of XYZ Optics. *Replacement lenses sold separately.

Would anyone perhaps know which Oakley Half Jacket lenses might be best for high contrast, low-light, mountain biking in and out of the trees? I lost my Gold lite Smith Slider lenses which were perfect. Many thanks!

I got these with the Black Iridium lenses and they are awesome! The Iridium does cut down on glare, but not as much as polarized. These stay on through everything and they are great in cloudy through very bright light.

Can't get a better pair of shades. I was hoping they would at least have a hard case for the price. I can deal with that.

I originally ordered the Oakley Zeros sunglasses from the outlet. Bad idea unless you want to look like a fly. The lenses were way too big and went way past your eyebrows.
The Oakley halfjackets are much more normal looking and provide enough sun coverage to alleviate glare. I use them for outdoor volleyball tournies and they never fall off.

These sunglasses work well for trail running, mountain biking and road biking. They don't bounce and sit well on the face. They're so light, half the time I forget that I have them on. Used mostly for trail running so the lighter lenses work well when running in the trees on sunny days.

I've had a pair of these for years - they're still my favorite biking glasses. And recently really enjoyed them at Lake Powell with some polarized lenses. Light, durable, lots of lens choices...one of the most versatile sport sunglasses in existence. A modern classic for sure.

These glasses are super nice. Great quality when you look through, and so light that you forget you are wearing them. They look really nice when you are wearing them, and protect your eyes really well. You should put out the money for these because you will love them. One of the great features about these glasses is that it is so easy to change the lenses to give the glasses a whole new look. Highly recommended sunglasses.

I like these for riding (on and off road) and for ski touring. They really can be used in a variety of different scenarios. The changeable lenses are great and easy to do. Good eye protection all the way around.

I work outside every day here in Phoenix where summertime temperatures can climb into the 120's. I have never had to worry about them slipping or creeping out to the edge of my nose. They just stay put!
Unfortunately, I wear a prescription and I found out real fast that my frames had gone from a $120 investment to a $420 pair of glasses! Nobody would attempt to cut the lenses as they said my Rx would have to be sent to Oakley direct, thus the ridiculous price.
I was so impressed with the job and the way the lenses looked I didn't care about the price at that point.
I have since purchased another pair of frames so that I can change my Rx for a different look.

I ordered black chrome/titanium half jacket and I was so disappointed. he real thing looks a lot different from the one on the picture. I should have known when I read a comment about it saying "it looks cheap". I just hope that my husband will like it because I bought that for him for our anniversary.

The day after I got them the rubber nose pieces fell off, and I could only get replacements at Oakley.com. I had to pay for them and for shipping. I’m not impressed. The glasses were $129. You would think they would replace for FREE!

These glasses are worth every penny! I work in a lumberyard and in construction and normally break a pair of sunglasses a week and these haven't broken yet! I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a tough pair of sunglasses.

I bought my jackets in December'04 and I have absolutely love 'em. No matter how much abuse I dish out to them whether its baseball or snowboarding they never break. A guy I bought lenses from actually twisted them into a ball(not recommended for painted frames) and the went back to their regular shape. If you plan to be active with your glasses these are great. Kudos to Oakley.

Come on now! They're Oakley. That is all you have to know. They provide outstanding protection for just about any sport, they are comfortable, you can change the lenses to adapt to the conditions, and they look great!

Best sunglasses I've ever had. Fit and finish are great and I haven't had any problems with them fogging up (like my old Ray Bans.

I've had my Half-Jackets for 2 1/2 yrs. and the have been pretty good. The only common problem I've noticed is that the nose piece and Oakley 'O' fall off. I sent mine back and got 'em fixed under warranty...no prob. I recently lost them sailing, they don't float. I'm definitely going to get another pair, the fact that some pieces fall off are outweighed by how good you will look in them!

I had my Oakley Half-Jackets about 1 year now. I use them to work on cars with the clear lens, hunt with the persimmon lens and drive with the gold iriduim lens. I can't seem to destroy them they are extremely scratch resistant, tough, lightweight, and the optical clarity of the various lenses are PERFECT.

I purchased these sunglasses for biking and hiking. The lenses sit close to your eyes very comfortably. There is very little side-glare as the glasses curve just enough for total eye protection. The fact that the lenses are changeable is great! They are holding up beautifully! I have a narrow face and the size of the frames and lenses is perfect for me.

These are great glasses. They're lightweight and hug your face. I play beach volleyball and these are the only glasses I've found that will stay on my face during an intense game. Great clear optics, they look great, and they stand out. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for quality glasses that help you stand out.

These arrived today - they are light, durable, and look awesome. Changing the lenses is a little difficult at first, it takes some time to get it right. Once you get it, it's not a problem. The enclosed instructions are very helpful - the only negative here is the difficulty inserting new lenses. Excellent look, excellent fit, superior product.!!

Fit well and feel great. Only problem I had were rubber nose grips fell off because carrying bag was a little too tight for them.

They do the job. Just a little high priced but these lenses do work in a set of comfortable frames.

Owned for about 9 months with the usual abuse of skiing and biking. Great fit. Good optics. Poor frame quality. The Oakley 'thermonuclearchemicalwhatchamacallit' frame coating is chipping off around the lens sockets- looks cheap. I would expect them to last longer than 9 months.

Great Optics. Sturdy lightweight frames. May be too small for larger faces.

I have had these glasses for 4 months now and they are great. I love the interchangeable lenses and would suggest getting the black iridium lenses, I haven't taken them out since I slapped them in. I use these glasses for everything from driving to hiking to kayaking and they never have come loose or fallen off my face. There is only one drawback. They will not be making polarized lenses for these any times soon, but the Black Iridium lenses do just as good as some of my buddies’ polarized lenses.

Like baby marsupials everywhere, the Half Jackets grab your head and don't want to let go. This attribute makes them absolutely sick for mountain biking, running, or any other high speed/high impact sport. The only downfall is they kinda hurt to take off sometimes, grabbing your hair and all. And you just can't beat the interchangeable lens system on these things!

Finally, a pair of Oakleys that I won't destroy in a month! Paddling, climbing, whatever, these babies will stick to your face. The interchangeable lens system is the deal, and gives you control of the light. My favorite feature...the lack of a bottom frame to obstruct your view. Lightweight and perfect!

These glasses are awesome. I purchased them primarily for golf, but I am wearing them all the time. They do improve the contrast around the greens and they also are very comfortable. Very light, and they stay on without any problems.

The Oakley Half Jacket is one of the lightest most durable glasses I have found. Flipping off my bike or slamming my face into powder the Half Jackets never leave my face. And you can not beat the optical clarity Oakley glasses offer.
