Northwave Bike Lizzard Cycling Shoes - Men's

With a cooling Airmesh upper and secure three-strap fastening system, the Northwave Men's Lizzard Cycling Shoe is a great choice for advanced mountain bikers and riders looking to take it to the next level. Carbon-infused rubber in the aggressive Jaws outsole both enhances grip and stiffens the sole for better power transfer. Ultra Y heel design prevents slippage throughout the pedal stroke.

Bottom Line: Climb faster and sprint harder in the Northwave Lizzard Shoe.

Finally Found some Nortwaves

Up until 3 years ago I had always ridden with Northwave Mtb Shoes, preferred the fit even to Sidis. Since Supergo went under there were no dealers that had Northwaves locally. I sadly switched to Answer Impacts and have hated them for 3 long years. Found the Lizzards, love the lack of a ratchet strap. After all, mountains have rock to break those off. Rigid, plenty of toe box room, kept my foot positioned over the pedal properly, LIGHT. I had some issues with back pain over the past 6 mos and it went away with one ride in the new shoes. Compare these with Specialized BG and you'll save $$$ for a comparable shoe.

I am trying to decide between these and the Lake mx165 with the vibram sole, what would be the advantages to the northwave lizard?

Vibram soles kick butt, but honestly there isn't much of a difference. The 'carbon-infused' rubber may indeed be a bit stiffer, but I have my doubts.

Backcountry's killer return policy is what these shoes have going for them. If the shoe doesn't exactly fit, exchanges or returns are a snap.

Yes they would fit eggbeaters.

You can never be 100% sure of the size until you put them on.
