32North STABILicers

The 32 North STABILicers are relied on by hundreds of thousands of postal letter carriers, police and rescue crews, hikers, dog walkers, and many others, STABILicers help provide non-slip traction to keep you mobile in icy and snowy conditions. Long-lasting Vibram soles with case-hardened steel cleats bite into the slickest ice and snow. Simply attach STABILicers to your favorite shoes or boots quickly and easily with Velcro fasteners and never let icy conditions slow you down again. More comfortable than creepers or crampons, more traction than older style grippers or spikes, and longer lasting than grit boots, STABILicers are your answer for winter mobility. –Vendor

Bottom Line: Walk with confidence.

these really work

By:

The stablicers got the supreme test when I went to Michigan lately. The roads were literally sheets of one to two inches of ice with hills. I was easily able to walk on the ice with these things attached to my feet. They go on easy and are not a problem to walk in. The only caution is that the little cleats are sharp enough to damage a deck should you walk on it.

Great

These stay on, they are great on rocks and side hilling and seem to be very durable. Check out my video of a mountain lion attacking mountain goats! www.eyeinthewild.com

Excellent Traction Control

By:
February 28, 2008

These are well made and offer unbelievable traction. I've had other types of boot traction devices and they fall off my boots and wear down after a year of use. These are bomber and have never fallen off my boot. Pay a little more for these. They work better and last longer. IF you wear out the cleats you can replace them with hex head screws.

Thank You Stabilicers

By:
February 17, 2008

I actually had originally bought some snowshoes with excellent traction on packed snow and ice but they were 5 times more expensive then these stabilicers. These perform very very well and it seems like every trail I go on I get someone asking me where I got these and how they perform. I'm glad to recommend this site and stabilicers to anyone. I've only had them a little while but so far they are holding up like new. Great addition to the gear.

Work great, and durable

By:
September 7, 2007

I walk my dog on about 2 miles of trail daily, and in winter, the snow quickly becomes packed sheet ice. Yaktrax work well until the ice gets steep, but I can go through a couple pairs each winter when rocks start coming up through the snow and ice. No worries on that score with the STABILicers. They grip better, too. They do take a little more fiddling around to get on the boot or shoe, and you can't slip them in a pocket, but for grip and durability, they can't be beaten.

Great for Ice Hiking

By:
March 8, 2007

I used these on a 13.5 mile hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Presidents Day weekend 2007. The trails were complete ice and it was 3,000 feet elevation gain to the summit. My Stabilicers held up great and didn't slip under my shoes one bit. I was able to hike with confidence and even tried to slide on purpose, but no luck! These aren't made for steep terrain and I took it slower on those sections of trail. But I still felt comfortable and confident wearing these. For flat and moderate slopes, these rule! Very easy to put on also. I highly recommend these for non-technical use out on the trail.

Great traction & construction. They also seem to stay on my boot well - even on steep mountain sides.

Big Fan of Stabilicers!

By:
March 18, 2006

I've held off posting a review for 8 months, so I could tell everyone how well the STABILicers worked during one of our New England winters. These things work great! I have a very steep driveway that's treacherous to walk on in the winter when it's icy. Last year I had a pair of Yaktrax, which fell apart within weeks. With STABILicers I was very safe and sure footed, even during our numerous ice storms this year. I highly recommend them. Do not walk on your wood deck with these, since they will mark it.

Word of Mouth

By:
February 15, 2005

At the beginning of my hike, I got talking with other hikers ready to make the trek. They were going in an opposite direction and we would be sure to meet at the top of the mountain. I mentioned my concern of not having crampons and they showed me these wonderful ice gripers called "stabilicers". After bushwhacking through the woods (due to the ice on the trail), I met up with the others at the top and they had no problems at all. I ordered my Stabilicers upon my arrival home and have used them on every hike since. They GRIP! Hard pack snow, blue ice and rocks! An excellent product. Highly recommended.
