Nordica Blower Alpine Ski

Nordica Blower Alpine Ski
The running back of the bomber Supercharger line, the Nordica Blower Alpine Ski floats on a 110 millimeter waist and charges on a solid wood core. Experts tackle the biggest lines on this Nordica plank, then take it out for tree lines, crud and cruisers at the resort. The burly wood core gives the Blower the muscle to charge through inconsistent snow and carve deep trenches in hardpack, while the bombproof sintered graphite Electra Gallium base takes stump hits, shark fins and other below the surface nasties in stride. Go ahead—hike a ridge, rip a huge line, hammer out the avy debris at the bottom, and then cruise over to the lifts for some well-deserved corduroy. The Nordica Blower turns the backcountry and the frontside into your personal playground.
Bottom Line: Blow down the mountain.

Decent float / could be better

My review is for the 07/08 version (I'm not sure what changes, if any, Nordica made to this ski for 08/09). I used this ski early on last season, but had to dump it because it wasn't performing up to par. I felt the float was substantial in anything up to 24" but beyond that, the Blowers left much to be desired (for reference, I'm 5'10", 215#). Nordica lists the turning radius at 29m for the 193cm length but that's a load of garbage; this ski is far turnier than that and I would compare it more to a 23-25m radius ski. Although the Blowers are 110mm in the waist, they are strictly a powder ski. In hardpack conditions, I've felt that these skis got tossed around quite a bit. I've heard the 185cm length is better suited for non-powder since it has the same amount of material as in the 193cm. The Blowers can be had for cheap, but you do get what you pay for. On the plus side, they are a ton of fun in the trees and are better than average for stomping airs.
Does anyone know how much the 06/07 blower weighed?

I personally like the blowers so much I have 2 pair. One I have mounted with Dukes for slack country and the other pair Marker Whatevers. This ski makes me want to ski everyday, wicked in the pow and super huge cruisers at the end of the day effortless, I am 180lbs and ski 185s love 'em.

What is the difference between the Blower and the Blower Sup
What is the difference between the Blower and the Blower Supercharger?

Nordica Supercharger Blower was last years version of the Blower with dimensions 139/110/129. This years is called just the Blower with the same dimensions 139 / 110 / 129mm.Just got this from Nordica. All 185cm Blowers have the mounting mark in the wrong spot. Here is what Noridica said exactly"A large percentage of the NORDICA BLOWER skis size 185 were incorrectly marked for the mounting position. The incorrectly marked skis were marked at 73.6cm.The correct measurement is 80.1cm measured from the tail of the ski."This qualifies as a recall in my book but I guess not for Nordica.

2009 nordica blower - flat tails w/ marker griffons

just got a pair of 09 nordica blowers with marker griffon bindings, i've had them for about 2 weeks and can't believe how good they are. I thought they would suck on hard pack, but was blown away how nimble they are. i'm 5'11 165lbs and i got the 185's, i was worried they would be a little too much ski, but i couldn't be happier. they've only seen a little powder so far, with nothing but smiles from me . I'm also impressed with the marker griffons, they're nice and light and feel solid, they're perfect for this ski. i'm unleasing them in revelstoke b.c. this weekend, i'll update you on how they perform in the deep stuff.
till then...
193 Blower Crush

I got a pair of these bad boys last season and ended up skiing them about every day. If you're the type of person that likes making three turns down west rustler when the buffer is turned on, takes pleasure in being the first back to the lift after a lap on a pow morning, and goes twice as big as all your friends, look no further than the blower. A slightly softer tip blends nicely into vertical sidewall, race construction waist and tail that will not wash out on the most jarring of back slappers. Backcountry jib ski this is not, but it is a helluva ride if you've got the powa.
Nordica Blower kinda blows

I want to like these skis, I really do. I also own a pair of the Nordica Blowers younger sibling the Enforcer (98mm underfoot). I love the Enforcers and the Blowers are just a bigger version at 110mm underfoot instead of the Enforcers 98mm underfoot. Unfortunately this supersizing of a great ski doesn't quite work. The blowers are a blast on the groomers as they have a nice deep sidecut, vertical sidewalls, and excellent edge hold. Unfortunately once you get in the deep stuff I find the deep sidecut to be a little hooky and with the soft tips it can be difficult in the crud. I later purchased the Dynastar XXL 187cm and definitely prefer them to the blowers.
