Nordica Blower Alpine Ski

The Fat Albert of the bomber Supercharger Line, the huge twintip Nordica Blower Alpine Skis float the pow on a huge 110 millimeter underfoot. Expert freeriders tackle the biggest lines on this Nordica plank. Drop cliffs and bomb huge big mountain lines at mach speeds on this monster. The burly wood core gives the Blower strength to charge through inconsistent snow and float out big, buttery smooth turn in the deeps. The bombproof sintered graphite Electra Gallium puts the hurt on stumps, shark fins and other below the surface nasties without missing a step. The Nordica Blower Alpine Skis turn the backcountry into your playground.

Bottom Line: This Nordica ski blows it up in the backcountry.

Not for me...

I'm 6'5" and 250, so maybe I'm not the typical ski tester, but I could not stand this ski. It was jittery and would not carve. When I pushed it caved. Even in crud with big sweepers it was unsettled. I gather it changed significantly from the '07 model.

great, stable, big mountain ski.

I mounted up the Marker Duke on my pair and they rock the steeps. I have the 193 and use it mostly for in-bounds touring, big mountain terrain, deep powder days, and the crud. I have a hard time using them in the moguls, but it's probably just because I have the 193s. Go down a little more and you'll probably be fine in any conditions. As far as carving goes you just have to get it going fast before you lay it on it's edge; after that it does fine and will blast you through any rough snow you encounter on the way. I'm 6'1 and I weigh around 175 Lbs. and this ski does great for me. I'd suggest a fairly burly binding to stick on it: Salomon STH 16, Marker Jester or Duke, Look Pivots, or something along those lines.

The blower

I wanted to be more impressed by these skis. They carve okay, better than most people would expect for a ski this big. The float is good, but the flex is a little too stiff to be playful and not stiff enough to be solid at high speed. Look into the K2 AK Enemy as an alternative.

I have mounted my new Nordicas w/ G3 tele and having a ball. Very good float in the deep and able to plow the chop with ease. Not to stiff and nice and damp. I choose to work on these skis in all conditions.

Best ski ever

I love this ski - I had my doubts having skied the Beast and hating it, but Nordica has totally redeemed themselves with this ski. It is the most stable of all the fat skis I have tried (they were good but not as fun as this ski) . I have skied on almost all of the big mountain skis and this is the most stable on packed snow. It rides well fakie, on groomers it is still stable at high speeds, and turns quickly in the trees. A great big mountain ski and perfect for Wasatch powder.
