If you size right, there's lots to love

By:

Comments about sizing are confirmed here -- I had to switch out a medium for a large (I'm usually in-between). But even the large is slim enough to easily layer under other jackets. Extremely light and incredibly insulating given the weight. Seems very well made, and looks good despite that garbage-bag shell material.

Great piece...

This is a great little vest. It is kinda small but very light and super warm. I like Mont Bell products a lot as theyre everything they need to be and extremely functional. If you don't like hauling weight around but want something that works, go with Mont Bell. If you are a larger guy though you will want the next size up.

Warm, but a bit tight

By:
November 13, 2007

I've got a 37 chest and and a 29 waist. I can take a deep breath in the small, but I can feel it. Tad bit snug, kinda like the Mountain Hardwear transitions zip T, length is very nice and not too long, love the thumb holes. Would be too long if I went up to the medium. Wife thinks I look like a garbage bag- I'm just happy not to be freezing during winter steelheading or paying an extra $50 fee for overweight luggage on airlines. Terribly light and compressible.

Very warm but too small

By:
March 9, 2007

Everything about this vest is as advertised but...the thing is too small! I'm the archetype for medium sized clothes. The Montbell vest is skin tight on me. I assumed that it may fit snug but unless I lose a few pounds I'll have to send it back.
