Let your pup carry his own food, water, and treats in the Mountainsmith Dog Pack when you hit the trails. These well-fitting packs hold enough doggie grub for a full day of hiking, and are well balanced to carry just right. Soft padded straps and a well-vented top assure that your furry friend stays comfortable, and compression straps stabilize his load to keep him on his feet. Stash the leash in the top mesh pocket, and it'll be ready when you reach the trailhead. Hay, it has to happen sooner or later.

won't stay stable on her back, back piece needs to be broader. after reading others review I choose a small for my 50 pound lab/german shepherd mix and I am not as happy with it as I was with the medium for my other two dogs

pack is ergonomic, has "saddle" bags that are on the sides, so that the supplies are on the sides and not right on top of his back. I bought a cheaper pack for $20 and returned it as soon as I saw how it sat on his back. This pack was twice as much but twice as worth it.
