Mountain Khakis Alpine Utility Pant - Men's

Wear the Mountain Khakis Men's Alpine Utility Pants to work on Friday and go straight from the office to your weekend outdoor adventures. Mountain Khakis built these relaxed-fit pants with double-layered fabric on the knees and rear to ward off wear from rock climbing, horseback riding, and sitting on unpadded fishing-boat seats. The Alpine Utility Pants' cotton canvas is woven from two-ply threads for strength and suppleness. Triple-stitched seams and heavy-duty bar tacks hold this iron-clad material together. Though tough on the outside, the Mountain Khakis Alpine Utility pants are brushed on the inside to help prevent chafing.

Bottom Line: Go straight from work to play with the Mountain Khakis Alpine Utility Pants.

Once you go Khak you dont go back

I got these pants for bushwhacking and after wearing these for 2 weeks straight I have found them to be superb. I have brought them deep into the woods for bushwhacking and sliding across trees to cross rivers, they are super durable and you wont feel any briars. I live in a windy area and these bad boys cut the wind down significantly. The pants do ride higher than say hipster pants but I don't find them to be uncomfortable, they sit a good 1.5 inches below my naval. I am 5'10, 155lbs and found that a 32x30 fits me perfect. The color is true to the picture. They are easily brushed off to keep clean so I have had no problem getting really dirty and then wearing them around the next day. As a cotton pant though, when wet they due take time to dry so I wouldn't recommend them for really wet bushwhacking as you may get cold (not to mention possible chaffing). All around tough pair of pants though, love the extra pockets and will be getting another pair soon.

let down

I was hoping for better. These pants are over-priced and trendy... straight from Jackson Hole. I returned mine. They don't compare to Carhartts.

Great pants!

These are great pants. Durable, comfortable, and they just feel great. A little heavy for summer use, these things are perfect the winter. I wear them so often my wife calls them my uniform. Some people have complained that these fit small, but I find that they're spot on. They do fit smaller than Carhartts, but I've always thought Carharrts were a little big on me. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.

SIZE UP

Worst fitting pair of pants I have ever spent $80 dollars on. I am 5'11" tall, 170 lbs and very fit, a size 34 waist is tight and the pants ride high on my hips. I bought a 34 waist so the pants will be loose fitting and comfortable. I own a construction company and have worn every brand out there and would not recomend these what a dissapointment!

Definitely awesome pants though made in Cambodia - but I wear them everyday, brush them off for work, get them dirty playing.

Pant, not lamp

These Alpine pants are worth the money. They do seem to shrink a bit though, so size up. I love the gusseted crotch and the freedom of movement. I love pant!

Automatic favorites

I bought these pants with the desire for a tough do anything pant. They have far exceeded my expectations. They are right at home working in the shop, climbing at the crag, or around town. The fit seems to be right on for me, maybe a hair on the small side but still loose enough for the need of a belt. Overall, great pants!!! You will like them.

I bought these for work and they're turning out to be great. A nice alternative to Carhart and in the same league. In fact, I ended up buying a second pair!

Hard workin' pants that feel great

By: Gabe up in Maine (3)

I got my Mountain Khaki Utility Pants about a year ago and have worn them two to three times a week. So that's about 130 days with them on and about 50 washes. No doubt, these are some tough pants. The price tag is pretty steep, but they're at least twice a tough as regular pants and far more comfortable than Carhartts, so they're a good value. I like the cell phone pocket and the gusseted crotch. I'll get another pair when these wear out, but it could be another year or two or, heck, maybe even five. I always wash them in cold water so they don't shrink.

solid pants

The Mountain Khakis are very solid with out the extra weight of other work pants. I love the gusset crotch and will definitely buy another pair! Also I would give an A+ for the extra touches, like the front pocket openings being set forward a little and the hidden right front pocket. Finally I would like to say that I really did not notice any shrinking like others claimed?? The most comfortable pants I have had for work, bar none!

Good not great

These pants are well made and the fabric is broken in and comfy. However, they fit small. Also, I was disappointed and surprised in the amount of shrinking. So, if in doubt, you really need to size up. Given the sizing, shrinkage, and price they don't seem a good value.

Well, they suit my needs.

Heinously expensive, it's true. And I was shocked, nay, appalled, to see that they're made in Cambodia. I figure they outsourced from the get-go to avoid the controversy when they move from Jackson Hole to wherever. Anyways-I really like the fabric, color, and styling. They are tough and comfortable. Carhartts are stiffer. These seem a bit more polished, seams are noticeably tighter, but mainly they seemed like a cool pair of pants. Which they are. I wish the back pockets buttoned to secure my wallet, but otherwise the design's spot-on. The gusseted crotch is nice, but I can feel the extra bulk of the seams there. They're the kind of pants that you definitely will wear out (because you wear them so much, not cause they're weak), so at least you get a lot of wear for your dollars.

I was hesitant to purchase these pants at first but wanted to give them a try. They're really comfortable considering how tough they are, they have pockets in the right places, and they’re really durable and look casual enough for a nice evening jaunt. The color is nice too. The fit is more relaxed boot cut, which suits me well. Great service.

The comfortable work horse !

I own a pair of the original mountain pant, and I just purchased these for work and hanging around. The double seat and knees are nice and are not so stiff like other brands. They cell phone pocket is grea, itt has a little hood on it to keep the cellie in when sitting. Must say they fit great and felt great right off the rack.
