This liner's Abrasion Nubs won't get thrashed by the burly Kevlar laces and its Floating Ribs prevent the Fast Canyon Shoes from sinking. Terrible shoe with good points

I recently used these on a 10 day Quetico canoe trip. First I had to replace the cord locks that came on the shoe, which would not tighten(from some Salomon ski boots). The tightening system was very difficult to use, buta I thought that with use it might loosen. Not so. The only strap that would tighten pushed the heel piece against the achilles area. Blister after first 5 portages. The good? The sole construction and material were excellent. Good grip ;and support. The molding insoles were also very comfortable. They obviously spent some time designing this shoe. Hard to understand how they would try selling it with such obvious flaws. After the trip I tried to free up the laces and needed a pliers to get the lace to move at all. Do not buy this shoe

Fast Canyons

These shoes are very large. I got them thinking they would make a great whitewater creeking bootie, but they don't fit in my boat. Furthermore, I can easily see how they would give someone heel blisters with a fair amount of walking.

Wildy innovative and practical...with some flaws

Not really a shoe, not really a sandal or booty. It is all of these things. The super structure rib system fits the padded neoprene-like uppers around the foot providing excellent support and personalized comfort. The sole provides excellent grip on most surfaces. On the downside, I, like the previous reviewer and others had issues with heel blisters. This was fixed with duct tape applied to the inside of the shoe and bandaids on my heels. Also there needs to be a better way to lock the laces down and secure leftover lace. Lastly, while the ergonomic molding insole is a good idea for fit reasons, it doesn't provide particularly good cushioning after it molds. The non-molding foam on the bottom of the insole needs to be thicker to compensate. Mion has apparently already made a Fast Canyon 2, so I hope they built upon the good and fixed the bad. Overall, the perfect fit provided by the super structure and their overall sturdiness makes these shoes worth checking out.

Mion Fast Canyons

Shoes were not laced correctly when i first received them and could not lace them myself. i only wore them once and within 5 minutes of walking they were already breaking. they also caused slight blisters on my heels as well. i also didn't particularly care for the width of the shoes. it was hard to fit into my boat with these exceptionally large shoes. i liked the traction on the soles, but that couldn't make up for the flimsy laces. i sent them back for a refund. i'll get Tevas next time.
