I live in Iowa, and our winters always get to sub-zero at some point. Is this a jacket that will keep me warm at -10 below?

Flag

Not on its own for any length of time. If you just need it for walking around town, car to house, house to car, that kind of thing, it'll do great, but more than probably an hour without moving around a fair bit and you'll be cold. Of course, it all depends on how you layer it, level of activity, whether you stay warm well naturally, etc.
