Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket - Women's
Experience a warm winter despite the frigid conditions when you zip up the 650-fill Mountain Hardwear Women's Sub Zero Down Jacket. This jacket keeps you as warm as your winter sleeping bag, but its feminine cut looks flattering, not bulbous. The Sub Zero's polyester Z-Rip fabric resists tears and sheds light snow. Stuff your hands into the fleece-lined pockets to keep them toasty around base camp, and pull the one-handed hem and lower back drawcords to seal out the cold on a freezing alpine night. This backcountry puffy comes with its own stuff sack for packing ease.
Bottom Line: In town or at basecamp, the Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket will warp your perception of winter.

I was wondering if anyone has a size small in this Sub-Zero
jacket and can tell me what the measurement is from the base of the neck to the bottom on the back of it.
I got the XS and it is only 23". I'd like it to cover my rear. I was told to go one size up, by a rep.

The small is measured at 23.5"... if you are looking for a down coat to cover your rear check out the Sub Zero Parka. The small in the parka has a center back length of 28.5"... which should cover your rear. Hope this helps!

I just bought this jacket, and chose it out of 15 others. I live at 9000 ft with wind gusts to 80mph and it's great. Hands down the best of all jackets I've tried on for warmth and fit (I'm 5'5', 118 lbs - small was perfect, light weight. feels good with thin or thick layers underneath). I got the red which can be a tricky color which I often return, but this one is a good, fun red.

In the question above I was trying to agree with the person who answered that the Sub Zero SL was the way to go. that's the jacket I was referring to - not the regular Sub Zero.

You're almost there. Check out the Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL, I just bought that jacket and it is fantastic. It has a hood, elastic cuffs, windproof, water-resistant, down, I think it'll fit the bill nicely.

I'd say small, but check the sizing chart. It's under the size/color pulldown menu.

The downtown is a thigh to knee length coat, this is just a jacket. This will only come to your waist. This one will be much more versatile if you are camping or doing something where you will be bending and such, but the other one will be warmer if you are just walking around town.
