Mountain Hardwear Escalade Short - Men's

Believe it or not, before the name Escalade became synonymous with hip-hop stars, suburban soccer moms, and a healthy disregard for fossil fuel consumption, it referred to a method of scaling walls in war…and the Mountain Hardwear Escalade Shorts are ready for battle. A diamond-gusseted crotch provides ample mobility for tough heel hooks and smears, while the conical, chamois-lined waist and hips feel like sweet lovin' under a harness. Oh, and we dare you to get as rough as you please with the 500-denier nylon Kanvaz fabric from which these trunks are cut.

What is the inseam? My 15 year old likes longer shorts but needs something for climbing and hiking. ANy suggestions on cool yet functional shorts?

Flag

Length from crotch down. I'm 5'11", 10inches is above knee, 12, just below, 18 - forbidden because they're capris. Nylon is a good fabric because it's light, but it hangs weird if you keep cell or wallet in there. Prana is a climb clothing company. I Have Columbia task Master shorts 70/30 nylon/cotton blend - works for me.
