Mountain Hardwear Transition Jacket - Women's

Get ready for cool-weather aerobic action with the windproof Mountain Hardwear Women's Transition Jacket. On a mid-winter day, grab your Nordic skis, zip-up this breathable jacket over a moisture-wicking base layer, and head for the hollow. Side stretch panels let you move freely during autumn and spring running and climbing, and the Windstopper Featherweight fabric feels barely there. Mountain Hardwear included an MP3 pocket and peppered the Transition Jacket with 360-degree reflective hits for safety during a nighttime bike ride.

Bottom Line: Get relief from bracing winds with the Mountain Hardwear Transition Jacket.

love it!

I absolutely love this jacket. Out skate skiing, it stood up against windy 15 (F) degree weather with the hood up and only a wool thermal layer underneath. Just as great in sunny, 34 degree weather on backcountry tours. Very light weight and windproof which makes it an easy choice when weight is a factor. The only down side is the thumb loops - they seem to be too bulky and don't fit well under gloves. I tuck it back into the sleeve instead and problem solved.

Ski Touring Dynamo!

By: Julia Niles(6)

This jacket rocks my world. The fit is superb- long sleeves with a comfy thumb hole. When its a bit chilly- a hood to protect against the stiff breezes, yet it's light enough to barely know its there. This jacket doesn't waist any weight on extra pockets or random frills- it is a lean, mean, ski touring machine (especially when I wear it). I have yet to find a better jacket for the long up-hill battles on skis.

Great for Running

By: Karin T(2)

I have gone on several runs when the temperature is below 35 and windy wearing only this jacket and a long sleeve base layer. It has been AWESOME! In addition to the nice pockets at the waist, there's a great pocket in the back with built in flap so there's room for keys or an IPOD without making the jacket tighter. The fit is just as Mountain Hardware's sizing chart says. I love this jacket!

Great Jacket!!

OK, The jacket is great for mountain biking. I had bought a couple of other jackets before this one and started to sweat almost immediately to then realize that I felt cold and clammy. YUCK! Spending the extra money on the Featherweight is definitely worth it. I didn't sweat any more than normal with this jacket and when I start to get a little warm, I just unzip it partly and feel great. Best jacket I've owned so far!

Perfect for biking and running

This shell is PERFECT for biking and running. It's extremely lightweight, breathable, and full of stretch. It's an excellent windblock and sheds water in a drizzle. It's cut to fall at the hip so it's not bulky. There's a drawstring at the bottom, and the sleeves have an extra insert with thumb hole to cover your hands. The neck has a soft lining and there's a windflap on the main zipper. All the zippers are high quality. I really like the flat seams too. I like mine so much that I'm buying a 2nd one -- it's the most comfortable, functional, attractive aerobic jacket I've ever owned and I've owned many of them!
