Mountain Hardwear G50 Softshell Jacket - Men's

The Mountain Hardwear Men's G50 Jacket gives you the stretch, waterproofing, and warmth you need to complete a mixed ice route in stormy weather. Think a mixed ice route is some sort of mixed drink? No worries: this jacket is ideal for any outdoor activity where you need lots of mobility and burly water-resistance—from hiking to fishing to skiing. The softshell Synchro SBT fabric features a breathable Conduit laminate so it sheds precip while providing a level of flexibility you can't get from most waterproof jackets. A mesh lining wicks away moisture, while Power Stretch cuffs and a drawcord neck add comfort. The editors at Outside Magazine were so impressed with this softshell, they gave a shout out in this year's buyer's guide.

I love this jacket. Very light weight, very water and wind resistant. Its perfect for this time of the year (fall). It is not very thick at all, but its perfect any type of outdoor activity like hiking or climbing. I ended up ordering a Large at first, which I returned for a XL. I am 6'1" and 180lbs. I also ordered the Alchemy, planning on only keeping one of the two, but so far haven’t been able to let one go. The Alchemy seems to be cut a little bigger, and I have exchanged that for a Large, hopefully that works out. All in all, I’m very impressed, expensive, but worth it.
