Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Women's
One of Mountain Hardwear's proudest offerings, the Women's Compressor PL Jacket can keep you warmer and drier than down and most other synthetics. Insulated with Primaloft One, the Compresser PL owes its name to the fact that it holds its loft even after being compressed for hours. Stuff it into your pack and skin up, and then layer it beneath your waterproof shell before dropping into the chutes. When worn without a shell, the Compressor insulates even when wet and maintains high thermal value at an incredibly light weight. Fleece-lined hand pockets give your cold hands a soft, warm haven when you're caught without gloves. Stash your car keys in the inner zip pocket to guarantee you'll have a way home when you're wiped out from raiding hidden pow stashes all day long.
Bottom Line: Enjoy the benefits of Primaloft One in Mountain Hardwear's Compressor PL Jacket.

I purchased a black jacket in preparation for a trip to the Northeast during the holidays. I'm 5'1, 97 lbs, and always cold; it's difficult to find something warm, attractive and comfortable that fits. I read the reviews, and they accurately reflect my experience -- at 35°F, it is very warm yet very lightweight and XS fits well, with or without a heavy sweater. It's great for layering or alone. It's a great value if it's on sale. If I were looking to pay much more, I'd go with a heavier coat. This jacket is great for when you want to be warm while looking good on an evening out.

Sure it's compressible, but this function is rendered useless in an article you'll never want to pack. This jacket sounds like a diaper and looks only scarcely better. I could craft a better coat out of a garbage bag. The obnoxious sounds this coat makes as well as its non-feminine cut could be excused if only there were many pockets or impenetrable insulation. Unfortunately I cannot say that this coat has any good qualities except its weight.

I was looking for a more fitted insulated jacket that could be worn alone or under a shell if need be. This coat felt too baggy.

I looove this MH Compressor PL Jacket. It's very light in weight, has very soft exterior, and provides a good amount of warmth. When it's colder and I need to put more layers, it fits very comfortably over a base layer and under one or even two mid-layers plus a rain shell. I bought and used mine for a 12-day mountaineering course in Talkeetna, Alaska in September and it did pretty well. The thin soft exterior fabric that looks delicate managed harnesses, rack slings, back pack straps, coiled ropes really well. I love it I would get another one in another color!

I actually returned this jacket. The sizing was really weird....the sleeves were way too long. Overall, the quality seemed OK, but I wasn't impressed enough to try a different size.

this jacket promises to compress, and boy, does it ever! unfortunately, the shell was a bit too thin for my taste since i was looking for something to bring up the rock with me for cold belays. i didn't think it could withstand too many abrasions from the crag, so i returned it.

Love this jacket. It will be a perfect 3 season warm layer. Packs small and is light. The fit is great, no motion restrictions, and yea on the arm length!

This jacket is very light, very comfortable, and provides just the right amount of warmth either alone or under a shell. I was extremely happy that the length of the sleeves was just right, and the zippers don't catch the fabric exterior. I wish the jacket had "pit zips", but other than that, it is a wonderful addition to my winter wardrobe. Pockets are convenient and large enough to be useful.

Super versatile and one of the nicest synthetic jackets you can find. Offers great warmth for how light and packable it is -- way superior to a fleece. Great on its own in cool weather (surprisingly warm and windproof) or layered under a shell or heavy jacket on cold days. Great for layering because warm without the bulk. The nylon is super thin but has proved very durable after 2 years of wear. Great jacket for traveling (incl use as a pillow). Use the sizing chart and you should find a good fit. One of the best investments I've ever made.

I bought this jacket in bright pink (cuz it was on sale) and in what I thought would be a large size for me, to fit over everything. When I first saw the bright color I thought I would have to return it, but once I wore it I fell in love with it despite its hue.
FYI: Mountain Hardwear seems to NOT supersize their clothes, and for me a 6 is perfect (usually i wear XS to S). I would have guessed a 4 would be the right size, but I would have been wrong.
Anyway, I love this jacket. I wear it all the time - around town in the winter on cold days, in the office when the heat is down low, and recently up on a El Pico de Orizaba in Mexico at 18000+ feet. It is super comfy and ultra lightweight, and is a great insulating layer, or perfect for around town on its own.

Bought this just to wear around town, but it works for all my activities. I have it in the black/shark and it fits in well in an urban environment. It’s also my favorite backcountry coat. It’s warmer and more compressible than fleece, lighter than a down coat, water resistant, soft against the skin. It takes up no room in a pack when backcountry skiing or backpacking, and I wear it under my shell when lift skiing. It’s also the perfect travel coat. The pockets zip shut, it works for city or play, and makes a great pillow for the plane.
