Mountain Hardwear Illusion Pant - Women's

The lightweight Mountain Hardwear Women's Illusion Pant serves as a ski pant, winter climbing pant, or rain pant for backpacking. At only one pound, six ounces, this two-layer Conduit pant has full-length side zips so you can put them on and take them off without removing your boots. Built-in gaiters keep the snow out of your boots when you lay down powder turns or posthole up another mountain. For improved fit, a stretch panel on the back of the waist and articulated knees lets you move freely, while these pants stay put. The Illusion is a versatile pant for year-round use.

Bottom Line: Up the ridge and down the couloir, the Mountain Hardwear Illusion Pant holds tough.

Best Ski Pants I've owned...

By:
May 5, 2008

These are THE BEST ski pants i've ever owned. I have a super small waist and a big booty, and the high waisted, adjustable tabs ensure a perfect fit. They are perfect for ski touring and hiking as well, and the fabric (conduit) is super tough and resistant to ski-related abrasions. I find the pants really long - i'm 5'8" and they are long on me.... okay with ski boots on though, but drag a bit just walking around. I bought a size large and they are roomy... I weigh about 155lbs. Oh yeah... and they look great on too! Very flattering cut/design.

Not for high mountains!!

By:
January 26, 2008

I bought these for climbing Orizaba in Mexico and found the design to be a nightmare. If you are only going to be on the mountain for less than a full day in good weather these pants are great; if you are there all night and all day climbing in cold weather and high winds...... not so great! If you need to use the bathroom you have to pull your shirt up to undo the high waisted tabs and expose a lot of your leg and butt! Needs a front zipper so they can be used with a Freshette for Lady J. I loved the synchro pants! Perfect for high altitude climbing!

Great Pants

Wear them for skiing, quite comfy, slimming, and easy to get over the ski boots. I had the same pant but with Gore-Tex material, and for snow, this pant performs quite similarly.

I LOVE THESE PANTS

By:

They are comfortable, with articulated knees useful and appropriate for climbing as well as dropping a knee in the backcountry (knee pads fit under). They are windproof, and waterproof - tested out in the raining of January of the ADKS. A super pant
