Mountain Hardwear Maestro Backpack - 4000cu in

Thanks to Mountain Hardwear's Exodus Motive suspension, the Maestro Backpack provides excellent support and comfort for an extended weekend of hiking. This Mountain Hardwear-exclusive suspension system uses Fit-Lock shoulder straps and hip belts that mold to your body without heat shaping. Lightweight Scandium tubing connects the suspension to the pack and creates flow-through ventilation matched only by external-frame packs. The Maestro Backpack is ideal for three or four days of hiking and camping, and it weighs only 5lb 4oz (size medium). Once you get to camp, convert the top pocket to a shoulder bag and take a short hike to explore your surroundings.

Bottom Line: Hit the hiking trails with the Mountain Hardwear Maestro Backpack, and find a new level of comfort with the Exodus suspension.

Fantastic Winter Load Pack

By: MNC (1)

This pack carries a 34 to 36 pound load, including the pack itself, for a 3-4 day winter trek more comfortably than any internal frames I have tried for this purpose. It is unusual in the fact that it requires more end user adjustment than any pack I have looked at or owned, however, the result is amazing. I ordered a second Maestro for my brother, who was equally as impressed as I was. For people who are not adverse to the necessary adjustment process, I would highly recommend this pack. I cannot comment about long term use, but, the comfort acheived is outstanding.

sweet pack!

This pack is really cool and has pockets all over it. I borrowed it from a buddy and even found some jollyranchers in it. Bonus! Once you get the pack dialed in, you'll be happy.

Wow - The bar has been set

This pack is very complicated to set up, and takes quite a bit of tweaking to get the fit perfect, but once you do, the fit is amazing. This pack uses more of a collar instead of the regular shoulder straps, and the load distribution is amazing. The weight goes right to the hip belt and the mobility of the hip belt is awesome. You can bend over to tie your shoes and the pack moves right with you. My only minor gripes with this pack are that there is no side access to the main compartment, it is top load only, and when I got the pack it would not adjust to the longest torso length, I had to take the pack off the frame and fiddle with it to get it to extend all the way, but besides those two things, great pack, and highly recommended!

Great pack

Got this pack a few weeks ago and have done a couple hikes with it, fully loaded. It was a LOT of work to get the harness set up correctly, but once set up the pack has been very comfortable and allows great mobility. I did have one of the cinch cords for the top closure come undone, but that's the only problem I've had with the pack. Crampons fit real well in the outside pocket, although I do wish there were a few more pockets available. I can juuust fit enough stuff in the pack to do a solo overnighter. Light, comfortable pack that allows great mobility.
