Mountain House Precooked Eggs with Bacon - Breakfast Entree

Now you can bring the eggs. Mountain House's Precooked Scrambled Eggs with Bacon yields enough for two, half-cup servings. It's the easy way to make breakfast. Just add boiling water to the pouch and watch the sun come up while you eat.

Bottom Line: Eggs that come in an unbreakable shell.

Actually pretty good

By:

It's a little bit more like egg corn puffs, but they're actually pretty darn good. I suppose the puffed dry eggs serve to keep them together while steeping and keep them from ending up like oatmeal. The final texture is pretty good. Would definitely get them again.

Mountain House Bacon and Eggs - Tasty

By:

These eggs are surprisingly good. They have a slightly odd consistency, but so do all eggs that have been dehydrated. They are a welcome change after oatmeal of cold cereal on an extended backpack.

Delicious!

My friends made fun of me for bringing these - they said there was no way it would taste like real eggs and bacon. Not only is it about as close as you can get, but my friends were drooling as I ate my delicious bacon & eggs and they munched on granola bars with peanut butter. I never go camping without at least one as a morning treat.

filling.....

By:

tastes pretty much like bacon and eggs. high sodium content though. like the cook in the pouch method, not crazy about the pouring off the exess water step, kind of messy and I don't like to draw critters if I dont have to. bag said serving for one, and it is very large portion for one and I'm a big eater, so if that's your objective, it's a plus. Bacon nice and crunchy.

I either bring oatmeal or a MH breakfast with me when out on the trail - it provides a good kick and tastes homemade IMO

what absorbs salt?

you will need it to make this edible... I'd stick to the plain eggs which are a little easier to get down.

My favorite of the breakfast menus

By:
September 28, 2006

None of the breakfasts quite match up to the dinners, but this one is easy, and really does taste like bacon and eggs. Not like fresh, but does have the right flavor for rehydrated food. This one only requires soaking in hot water and then pouring excess out. Much easier than the scrambles/omeletes. And to me, more exciting than boring oatmeal.
