Merrell Winterlude 6 Waterproof Boot - Women's
Merrell added both Polartec Thermo and PrimaLoft insulation to the Women’s Winterlude 6 Waterproof Boot, so you can get after it in the coldest weather. This boot takes on both snowy hikes and days in the city. A Vibram Thermo sole ensures excellent traction on slick surfaces, and Merrell added an Air Cushion Midsole to pad your every step. This premium boot also includes a compression-molded EVA foot frame for added support when you’re carrying a big pack.
Bottom Line: Winter ready.

Not really a women's fit

Good looking boot, but...
It was touted as being designed specifically for a woman's foot. However, as a wearer of many Merrell shoes, I found this fit missed the mark. It was too snug in the toe box/forefoot, and too loose in the heel. Women generally have a narrower heel, but this boot did not reflect that in its design.

I loved my boots for about a year. . .until the upper cracked and broke a hole in the boot. Unfortunately, the store says they can't do an immediate return and that they have to send them to Merrell for a decision. That means I have to be without boots until they decide.
I need a good winter boot for snowshoeing & hiking, rugged
I need a good winter boot for snowshoeing & hiking, rugged but not too heavy (2.8 or under) ... something more shaped to the foot than the old pair of standard Sorels that I usually wear...advice?

This boot will do just fine for you. It may even be too warm for intense activity?

I would recommend them to anyone, I find them most comfortable and most of all they are perfect to keep your feet dry and warm in winter weather conditions
