Merrell Chameleon Iso GTX XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Your feet get hot because you like fast-paced hikes, but you also navigate over tricky, wet terrain. So, do you go with breathable shoes or waterproof ones? Let the Merrell Men's Chameleon Iso GTX XCR Hiking Shoes put in their two cents. These lightweight hiking shoes have breathable mesh uppers and waterproof breathable Gore-Tex XCR linings. So, you have airy mesh above the linings which allows hot air to escape. The Chameleon Iso Hiking Shoes don't skimp on support either—protective toe bumpers, air-cushion midsoles, and Ortholite footbeds work with 4mm lugs and Vibram outsoles for trail support and reliable grip.

Bottom Line: Breathable mesh tops the waterproof lining on these lightweight hiking shoes.

Very Pleased

Like a previous reviewer said fits like a glove, surprisingly though I had to go down a 1/2 size. I wore these yesterday on a quick hike up a unmarked trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon and was very pleased. They seem to breathe well, although it was a evening hike and not much direct sunshine on the trail. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lightweight, waterproof breathable shoe for hiking.

Hiking boot ques. I'm 61 yrs, 5'6", 160 lbs (not sure that has any relevance in boot selection!). Starting to do overnite hikes in Grand Canyon w/20 lb pack. @ 10 mi/day. Merrell has been good to feet so far. Looking at MER0080. Your thoughts?

Wicked Shoes

By:

One of the most important parts of hiking is taking care of your feet. Being comfortable throughout your hike is often overlooked, but only becomes more important and evident as the miles pass and the day grows long. I decided to start my research a couple of months ago to treat myself to a new pair of hiking shoes. There are numerous styles and brands, all of which have tremendous advantages depending on the hiking conditions. In the end, I narrowed my choice to the Merrell Chameleon Iso GTX XCR. I've logged over 52 miles on these shoes in the past two months and I'm completely amazed with the results. The longer I own them, the happier I become with my decision. The break-in period seems to be rather long, probably due to the Vibram outsoles. I broke my pair right out of the box and the comfort allowed me to immediately hit the trail without any second thoughts. Check them out and hit your favorite trail.

awesome shoe

They fit like an old glove as soon as I put them on. The fit was true to my boot size and they needed very little break-in time. I look forward to hitting Rainier with them as soon as the snow clears!

Great Shoe

Great shoe, very good quality except the adhesive used on the toe of the shoe isn't the best so you might think about getting a good rubber adhesive to make sure it doesn't peel away.
