Merrell Chameleon Evo GTX XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Don't be fooled by the Merrell Men's Chameleon Evo GTX XCR Hiking Shoes' sleek, low profile—these hikers have waterproof breathable Gore-Tex linings, supportive platforms, and air-cushioned midsoles. Merrell knows you like to tackle steep terrain at a fast pace, so they combined breathable yet protective uppers with a hiking boot platform. Mesh panels help deal with hot feet, while antimicrobial treatments on the linings cut down on odors. The Chameleon Evo GTX XCR Shoes' 4mm lugs and Vibram soles keep you on your feet instead of face-down in the mud.

Bottom Line: The Chameleons' sleek suede uppers cover the Gore-Tex linings with classic styling.

I keep buying the same shoes over and over again. I've been wearing Merrells for many years now. I usually buy the Gor-tex versions, but they are hard to find sometimes. The Chameleons are great for hiking and you have no problem getting them muddy or wet since you have Gor-tex behind you. Just rinse them right off. Love them. The Vibram rubber treads stick to rocks like glue, so they help you walk right over them on trails. No plans for getting any other shoe unless they stop making them for some reason. That would not be good...

I like the Merrell Chameleon Evo GTX XCR Hiking Shoe, but I need a size 10 wide. Do they make it in "wide"?

Haven't really hiked in them yet.

I have been breaking them in around town and at the gym. They seem fine. At first, the significant rocker sole feels a little toes up (the sole is stiff), but I am used to it now. I'd wear these awhile before heading out, to get your feet used to the feel.
