Mavic R-Sys Wheelset

After two full years in development, the breathtakingly advanced Mavic R-Sys Wheelset is poised to dominate road cycling worldwide. Unlike any spoked wheelset before it, the R-Sys features Mavic-exclusive TraComp tubular carbon spokes that use both compression (outward force) and traction (inward pull) to maintain wheel tension. This revolutionary concept increases lateral stiffness by an astounding 30% over Mavic's Ksyrium ES wheelset and reduces weight to a feathery 1355 grams per pair, all while reducing the stresses that shorten component life. The results are durability, versatility, acceleration and handling the likes of which has never seen in an aluminum-rim wheelset.

Bottom Line: Mavic blows the doors off the laboratory with the new R-Sys Wheelset.

There is no doubt that the R-Sys wheels are great out of the box and super stiff, but I broke a spoke after a couple rides, and they are expensive to replace. Personally, I prefer the bombproof Kyseriums and can live with the extra weight. I'm a 175 lb sprinter and it hasn't crossed my mind that I needed a stiffer wheel than a Kyserium. Still, if you must have the latest greatest, go for it, they certainly ride well.

I just got these & they are so amazing that I would recommend them 100%. These fulfilled all the hype & more. Smooth, stiff, pretty aero, lightweight (for an everyday wheel). Also, they shipped very fast. I am not a light guy at 170. These performed wonderfully at my last crit.
