Marmot Helium EQ Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

The Marmot Helium EQ 15-Degree Down Sleeping Bag is made from water-resistant, lightweight Aerolight MemBrain fabric to keep moisture off the insulation. The EQ is just the ticket when space is at a minimum. Incredibly light and warm 850-fill down assures that you're getting the most warmth for your weight. The Marmot Helium comes in regular and tall sizes so you get the fit you need to stay warm and comfortable. A face muff keeps draw cords and zipper pulls off your skin without the irritation of unclosed hook-and-loop tabs poking you. Rated to 15F, this bag is your choice for adventures, like self-supported kayak trips, where every item is evaluated for its space and weight.

Bottom Line: The Marmot Helium EQ is super light and extremely waterproof.

Cozy, light and compact

Having only had a cheap pathetic bag in the past, a comparison would be foolish. I was so pleased that we could afford to buy good bags; I had high hopes that it would be money well spent. I have not been disappointed, these bags are excellent. We just used them on a trip to Anza Borrego, where the night time temps were in the 50s but with the full length zipper, it was easy to ventilate the bag to avoid being too warm. If you're looking for a great three season bag, this is it.

I'm broad shouldered ~59" girth and 72 1/4" tall.
Also have bilateral hip replacements which are still a little tender...so I shift around a lot. Considering the Helium for light weight. But also the Big Agnes Mistral or Lost Ranger for space to move. Any suggestions? Use for spring/fall river trips and backpacking. I tend to sleep warm but don't want to spend too many more 20 deg nights in my 40 deg bag!

Marmot Helium EQ bag

After having my last marmot bag for over 12 years, it finally needed to be replaced. The Marmot Helium EQ is warmer, lighter, more durable, and compacts much smaller than any other bag I compared. With constant trips in the San Juans, as well as being a Wilderness First Responder, this is the ultimate bag for any situation. Believe me, it is well worth the price!

Helium EQ comfortable at -13 Degree

I participate at Canadian Ski Marathon week-end February 9, a 100 miles run on two day in the Outaouais region in Canada. I decide to use my Helium EQ and not my Col (-20). The temperature in the night down to -10 Degree. With a non-isolated bivouac and a jacket and light pant, I pass a good night in my new Helium EQ. I was very surprise of the result. Is a very good choice.

Love this bag!

I got this bag because I sleep cold all the time, so even 30 degree weather is too cold for me sometimes. I sleep super-toasty in this bag, there's a ton of foot room, enough shoulder room to turn over, and I love the water-resistant shell. I can't imagine sleeping so comfy in another bag.

Helium EQ

I bought this bag for my son who is a boy scout. He loves this bag. The EQ material is great for preventing it from getting wet when two or more scouts are in a tent and condensation builds up. This is the primary reason I went with th EQ as opposed to the regular helium. The EQ has a longer zipper and weighs a bit more than the Regular Helium which does not seem to be a major problem. If you don't need the EQ fabric go with the helium. The EQ packs down real small as it takes up little space in a pack. The Heliums are terrific bags. They can't be beat. Worth their hefty price. If you own the Helium and the Marmot CWM you should be able to cover just about all conditions except real warm weather. The Marmot Atom fill this void. Marmot make a super bag. I will not buy any other bags.

I used Marmot's 15 degree Helium EQ bag for 2 weeks in Alaska's Brooks Range. This bag is worth every penny. You can't beat it for warmth, stuff size and weather resistance. The EQ shell is down-proof, windproof and waterproof. I'd recommend this bag- period.
